wouldn't it be marvellous if he knocked out Djokovic! Oh wow, more players and more matches to get nervous about - not just Andy ! We don't even get a day off! :sofa:
Just loving this problem!
So many lovely posts expressing delight and pride in Kyle's win. We do have lots of excitement and enjoyment now don't we?
Hello
Didnt the boy do good
On a side note - Do we think a certain Isner may just be getting a tad fed up of playing Brits?
Can't beat Andy, Can't beat Wardy, Can't beat Kyle :D
He's beaten Aljaz and I don't think he's played Evo yet
I heard Kyle had won in four sets. I suppose it wasn't surprising considering Isner's two previous matches.
Fantastic win from Kyle - really impressive!
Brilliant win for Kyle!
Amazing performance from Kyle against their number one on a big show court with a fairly partisan crowd (but nowhere near DC level). Finished watching final 2 sets this morning. Great save from 0-40 at beginning of third, probably the decisive game. His serve percentage dropped in fourth set but he battled well to hold serve conceding only 1bp and although he didn't get close on the Isner serve which was very solid in that set 11 aces 0 doubles, he hung in to get to the tiebreak
Played a really solid tiebreak, couple of mistakes but some really good points as well. Kyle won most of the big points, saving 6 of 7 bp and winning 3 of 4 and the tiebreak.
Kyle didn't seem to have any form coming into this and I for one had doubts about how well he could perform on such lively courts thinking he preferred slower, less bouncy clay ones. He certainly proved any doubters wrong! He's certainly got the temperament, he's got the shots, he's only going to get better. He has now joined Dan in the live ATP Race top50 and i would expect them both to retain that for the end of year rankings. There's a lot of proud Brits today Kyle.
