Well gosh. So Novak was all in trouble with his knee, trainer on at least twice.
Lo and behold he managed to win.
Cracker between Zverev and Rune too.
A lot of drama yesterday, even if Djokovic was gutsy Cerrundolo had a bit to deal with- missed great chance though! Anyway Novak has now pulled out, a torn medial meniscus in the right knee apparently.
Sinner has reached the semi for the first time. He is also now World No 1.
yes well done Sinner! He will face Alcaraz in the semi after the spaniard put out Tsitsipas 6-3,7-6,6-4. Ruud will face the winner of Zverev and De Minaur.
Men's final will be between Alcaraz and Zverev, an exciting match with Carlos and Sinner - strong start from Jannik and was up 2 sets to 1 but Alcaraz seemed to have more stamina as he took decider 6-3 (Sinner did have cramp in hand at one point though). Zverev came back from slow start to win in 4, Ruud though apparently had stomach bug half way through.
Should be a good final.
Alcaraz and Zverev Head to Head.

Fabulous 5 set final, whilst could have been bit of a blow when Alcaraz was unable to serve out the 3rd and lost it 7-5 zverev could not maintain the momentum. A high level from Carlos to clinch the next two 6.1,6-2 (though the final set closer than the score suggested) such determination as Alcaraz took his 3rd slam (all on different surfaces) even if was a bit up and down for parts of the contest.
