Emma 'emotional' after winning first round in Korea
Oh look, another Emma retinal. I guess we were due one...
Getting to be a habit? x
As she was attended by a doctor before leaving the court it seems she was really unwell. She was one of many players retiring in the current tournaments being played in horrendous conditions of heat and humidity. Even Jannik Sinner had to retire!
As Holger Rune said, do you want someone to die on court ? If the heat and humidity makes someone feel so unwell, then should they (the player involved or players generally) be playing in such conditions ?
Shouldn't they be training so they play in extreme heat and humidity though.
Raducanu stopped for the season but is continuing with coach Roig next year. They are having a preseason training block at end of the year.

No surprise, what I read last night on the BBC's website, Emma and Roig had parted company. She's now looking for her tenth coach.
Maybe not surprising but still somewhat frustrating, think Emma should have given it a bit longer even with a disappointing start to season.
Was it a onesided thing or was it mutual?
