Non Tennis News 2
Starting a new thread as the original is inaccessible.
RIP Robbie Robertson, The Band and long time backing group for Bob Dylan.
But much more than that - strong influence on many other rock musicians.
Stewart Wood on Twitter wrote:
The influence of The Band, their sound and the songs RR wrote, is extraordinary. An amazing talent who helped shape so much American music of the last 50 years.
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down is one of their classics, much copied!!!

Michael Parkinson was the best TV interviewer ever - so many memorable moments - he listened as well as asking questions.

Re: Non Tennis News 2
As this has now gone 'National' I'm sure many of you are aware of the tragedy that befell Adam Johnson, a player for my team the Nottingham panthers, on Saturday night during a game in Sheffield. In what has been described by many as a 'freak incident' Adam, an American playing his first season in the UK league, was accidently caught in the neck area by an opponent's skate. He attempted to skate off the ice but collapsed on his way to the team bench. he was rushed to hospital but failed to recover from the injury and died during the night. He was 29.
The incident has left the British Ice hockey scene in complete shock, and tributes have poured in from around the world.
I've tried to post a link to one of the tributes to give an example, but unfortunately the forum isn't playing ball. Again.

It was an awful thing to happen, especially as he is so young. I feel sorry for the guy who he collided with too.

Ah, the Tutti Frutti man - amongst his many talented offerings.
Loved that series, it made stars of Emma Thompson and Robbie Coltrane.

Re: Non Tennis News 2
He was also a very talented artist - designed album cover for Beatles among others - and friend of Gerry Rafferty and of Billy Connolly for whose 75th birthday he created some murals on gable ends in Glasgow.

This is perhaps not the right thread but I'm unable to write anything on the TV thread. Is anyone else watching and rooting for Annabel on Strictly. I've never been a huge fan before but she's really impressed me on Strictly both as a dancer and a person.

Re: Non Tennis News 2
Really enjoying it and hope Annabel makes the final

It is a shame Annabel lost the dance off, but I think she did really well. I hadnt been a huge fan of Annabel before either, but I quite like her now and, yes, she was impressive on Strictly.
