It's a one set shootout ...
The Ukrainian gets a 3-0 lead and then Fran broke back.
Our Brit now serving at *1-3, sadly another break ... 1-4*

Laura Robson and Tim Henman who were recently on the Sky Team and Anne Keothagong are now in the TNT team. Mark Petchey will be commentating. Mats Willander from the old Eurosport team is there too.
Jack has a tricky draw.
If he wins his first few matches he could be playing Monfils in the second round, Fonseca or Hurcacz in the third round and Minaur or Mensik in the fourth and Sinner in the quarters.
oop is out for Monday. Play starts at 11 am on Phillipe Chatriere and 10 am on all the other courts.

Jacob Fearnley vs Wawrinka - 3rd on Court 14
Emma Raducanu vs Wang - 1st on Court 8 (10 am UK time)
Jodie Burrage vs Collins - 2nd on Court 8
Lovely to see the Rafa Ceremony.
Andy, Nole and Roger were all there as part of the big 4.
I found the Rafa tribute incredibly sad. I was no fan of 3 of them, but it really hit home what we have lost. I can’t see Djokovic going on beyond this year. Then the “Big 4” will be truly history.
Certainly the Rafa tribute was moving and good to see Andy there as well as Federer and Djokovic .whatever our views on each of them they were part of a great era and Andy was very much part of that (even if he was not close in terms of slam victories). Djokovic must also be in twilight of career even though he took his 100th title in Geneva. However time moves on and I have comes to terms with it and support a number of the new generation.
Emma takes the first set 7-5.
Wang takes it to a decider, 6-4.
Emma went 3-0 up in set 3 but has just been broken.
Wang serving *1-3
Break back by Emma, next to serve at *4-1
Emma finally got over the line ... was broken again serving for the match at *5-2
but held to take the 3rd set, and match, 7'5, 4'6, 6'3.
Toughed it out after having medical checks at the end of the first set (blood pressure and oxygen levels). She'll need to find some grit for the next match - R2 against Iga Swiatek!!!
oop out for Tuesday - h ttps://www.rolandgarros.com/en-us/order-of-play?year=2025&competition=all&annexeCourt=all&pri ncipalCourt=all&favoriteFilter=false&country=all&d ate=2025-05-27
Jack Draper vs Belucci - 4th on Suzanne Lenglen
Cameron Norrie vs Medvedev - 1st on Simone-Mathieu
Sony Kartel vs E Andreeva - 3rd on Court 9
Jacob Fearnley has just taken out Stan the man in straight sets.
Well done Jake!!!
Maybe time for Stan to bow out too???
He's just one of the 'few' who managed to win a Grand Slam (or 3) during the "reign" of the big 4!!!
(along with Cilic and Del Potro who won 1 each).
Meanwhile Richard Gasquet walks out onto Chatrier for possibly his last ever match ...
... to a stadium 1/2 empty.
Hope he gets a few cheers if he wins against compatriot Altmane!
Well done to Jacob. Enjoyed watching that. :cheer:
We are traveling for the summer, so having trouble accessing the forum at times.
Also staying near mother-in-law at moment, who is not a tennis fan and may not understand that I will not be visiting when the Brit's play.:help: However, will give her some quality time with her son, which I think she will enjoy. :big grin:
We do get along, so I'm sure everything will be fine.
Katie Boulter was 5-3 up in the 1st set against Monnet (FRA) but is now in a tie-break.
KB was also up 3-1 in the tie-break, now 3-3.
Lo and behold - from a winning position TWICE Katie loses the first set.
Monnet won the tie-break 7'6(4)
Katie came back to win 6'7(4), 6'1, 6'1.
:phew:
There are also a few brits in the doubles tomorrow.

:swingin:
A bit tricky for Emma at times and some concern but was strong enough in the decider- good stuff!
:yahoo:
pity about the tough draw with Swiatek but hopefully performs better than the last time. Good to see Katie come through!
Gasquet did come through in 4 sets, well done!
:swingin:
Faces Sinner in Round though so a real challenge.
Congratulations to Jack Draper on becoming the world number four after Taylor Fritz's loss in the first round.
Real surprise with Fritz, good news for Jack though!
Just hope it is still onwards and upwards for Jack. 4 in the world brilliant.
Cameron Norrie has won the first set against Medvedev. Apparently Medvedev does not like early starts.
Cameron 3-0 up in the second set. Come on Cam :cheer:
Cam now 5-2 in the 2nd set, Meddy serving to stay in it ... 30-0, 30-30 and holds.
Cam to serve for it at *5-3 up.
:peace:
Unfortunately MeddyBear has a habit of waking up by the time set 3 comes around.
Watch this space!!!
:big grin:
