Arthur Fery a set up against Fognini in Nottingham.
Certainly a great performance, well done Dan! :swingin::swingin:
Cam lost in 3.
Good win for Jake Fearnley, 6'2, 6'4, over Bolt from Australia.
Chuffed to see Evo beat the Foe!!!
:GBflag:
Shame about Cam though; he's really lost his Mojo over the last year following the arm injury that took him out of action for 3 months in the autumn of 2024.
Dan was the first player in the men's tournament to win on the newly named Andy Murray Arena. :)
Jack won pretty comfortably today. Now watching Carlos.
pretty straightforward for Jack, well done! Be interesting to see if Dan can keep the form going, due to face Nakashima tomorrow. Glad to hear that Katie and Sonray had straight sets wins in Nottingham.
Fritz has been knocked out by Moutet.
Cameron Norrie/Jacob Fearney beat Neil Skupski/Joe Salisbury in doubles.
Francesca Jones and Mingge Xu also won in Nottingham.
Certainly an upset with Fritz going out, Moutet can be tricky though.
Draper in a right tussle with Popyrin.
It's into a tie-break for the match and Jack has just dropped serve.
Jack served first:
*1-0
1-1*
1-2*
*1-3
*2-3
2-4*
3-4* Jack broke back. Now on serve.
*4-4 C'mon Jack just a hold and 2 breaks of serve should do it.
;)
:phew:
Jack held:
*5-4 Popyrin now under pressure to hold his 2 serves.
5-5*
6-5* and Jack has match point on his own serve.
:nailbiter:
:yahoo:
Jack beat Popyrin and is through to the next round at Queens.
Tight match!!!
3-6, 6-2, 7'6(5)
Dan drops the first set to Nakashima, 7-5.
And also the second, 7-6.
One more win and Jack will be 4th seed at Wimbledon.
Hopefully Jack keeps it going, a bit close for comfort with Popyrin but stepped up at right time. Pity for Dan but not too surprised really.
Apparently Jack had not been feeling well, so hopefully his health will pick up before his next match.
Glad Carlos managed to win after tough match.
Queens oop for Friday - h ttps://www.atptour.com/en/scores/current/london/311/daily-schedule
Jacob vs Lehecka on 1st at midday followed by Jack vs Nakashima not before 1.30 pm.
Well done for Jacob and Cameron for winning their doubles quarter finals.
Lehecka d Fearnley 7'5, 6'2
Draper a break up against Nakashima in the first set and is serving at *3-2
Jack won in 3 and will be the 4th seed at Wimbers.
Jack really had to battle for that one; way too hot for tennis!!!
:wino:
Well done to Jack. I saw him on the LTA's website, along a few other players, being interviewed by Josh Berry who pretended to Andy Murray, Rafa Nadal and John McEnroe.
oop for Saturday - h ttps://www.atptour.com/en/scores/current/london/311/daily-schedule
Jack vs Lehecka 1st up at 1.00 pm.
Brits in both doubles semis.
Somewhat gutting as Jack loses out to Lehecka 6-4,4-6,7-5 in the semis. Fine margins but Jack offered up a few opportunities at crucial moments and Jiri serve was stronger in the final set. Sure he can step up a gear for Wimbledon and positive that Jack will be guaranteed the 4th seeing position.
Jack had tonsilitis diagnosed on Friday so he did well considering he was ill and he was feeling worse that the other days he played.
Some doubles wins:
Cash/Glasspool, GBR d Heiiovaara/Patten to reach the Queens Final where they'll play Mektic/Venus.
Nicholls,GBR & Mihalikova d Mohammed/Schuurs and will play Errani/Paolini in the WTA Berlin Final.
And Singles:
Marin Cilic notched up another title at the ATP Challenger in Nottingham.
Heather Watson is into FQR at Eastbourne and will play Rakhimova for a place in the main draw.

:trophy:
WTA Berlin
Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova with a fine win, 4'6, 6'2, 10'6, over Italian pairing of Errani/Paolini.
Enjoyed the Queen's final, Lehecka certainly made Alcaraz work for it (won their previous meeting in Doha) but the spaniard had another gear.
Good win for Nicholls/Mihalikova!
Great week for Bublik in Halle, put out world no1 Sinner in the last 16.
Cash/Glasspool have taken the first set 6'3 and are a break up in the 2nd.
