    Re: Newspaper and internet reports

Sad but relieved especially as more details of the pain come out. He has a young family. Look after yourself and let others look after you.
I cannot begin to say how grateful I am for all the years of having had the privilege of following somebody like Andy. Thank you so much for adding so much more meaning to my life.
I would also like to thank Sally and all the mods for having created such a wonderful community of which to be part.

    Let's cheer until the end.

Re: Between tournament discussion of Andy

A sad day, but I am feeling pride to have been a small part of it more.

However, I am now furious after making the mistake of reading the comments on the BBC article as the trolls are out in force...

Overriding relief, tempered with great sadness. I have never thought that he could come back from this. The rehab was taking too long. He will be distraught, but there is still a role for him within the sport. He will be a great coach, if that’s the path he chooses.

Above all, I wish that he has whatever surgery is needed to enable him to be as pain free as possible and to get on with being the best dad possible.

My goodness will we all miss him.

Re: Between tournament discussion of Andy

Always hoped Andy could manage a couple of years of doubles when his level dropped off, but pain is a whole different matter.

Sad day but whole lot of memories (only on TV for me) and I'm sure we'll hear plenty of him for many years to come.

Feeling as emotional as Andy! The comments say it all - thank you Andy for giving so much energy, fun, occasional despair and enjoyment to my life over a long period. x

Re: Between tournament discussion of Andy

    Feeling tearful.
I thought the end was close. I hoped it wasn't.
My goodness it hurts him to even put on his shoes! He's only 32 - that's no way to be.
He's added so much to my life - all those of watching him intensely, those roller coasters, the joy of the grand slam wins and the Davies Cup win - wow! I've had the joy of seeing him play live so many times. And many more on TV.
    Thanks Andy. Thanks

Such very sad news to wake up to but not entirely unexpected. He has given us all so much over the years and we must cherish those memories and wish him well for the future.
