Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct and Posting Guidelines set out below are intended to ensure that everyone who visits this forum can enjoy supporting Andy and his progress in a friendly, civilised and knowledgeable environment.
We have no wish to inhibit free speech or be accused of un-necessary censorship. However, we know from experience that with a large group of people there are bound to be differences of opinion which might sometimes result in heated argument. Hence the publishing of these standard forum guidelines for the benefit of everyone who joins us.
All we really want is for people to be sensible and not spoil the fun of the forum for fellow members.
If you have any problems please feel free to contact/PM any of the Mods/Admins/Managers (the Staff) of the forum.
Thank you, and we hope you enjoy your time on AMFF following Andy and Jamie Murray.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forum Conduct
1. Please be polite to all other members and Staff on the Forum and treat others as you'd like to be treated yourself. Whilst we welcome constructive, passionate and informed discussion we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. If you disagree with a comment it’s better to focus on the facts of the topic at hand - not the person delivering it. Members who sow discord and persist in argumentative and divisive behaviour will be removed from the Forum.
2. If you come across posts that you find offensive, please report them rather than get embroiled in an argument. Although the Staff will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this site, it is impossible for us to review everything and we may be unaware of problems unless alerted to them.
3. Although this is a forum dedicated to Andy Murray please be aware that Andy's fans are free to support other tennis players, other sports players and teams so please respect their right to do that. Please do not indulge in name-calling, offensive slang nicknames, insults, defamatory comments or wish harm to these other individuals or teams. In particular, please do not post allegations or suspicions of player wrongdoing without providing factual legally sound references to back up your position.
Such posts may be deleted and appropriate action taken against the user.
4. Please respect the privacy of your fellow members and do not use their private names, or other information, without their permission.
5. You may only hold one account. The use of multiple accounts will result in an official warning and banning of the duplicate account.
6. User names must meet normal posting guidelines, and thus may not be obscene, racist or sexist. Any user whose name falsely suggests that they are a member of the AMFF Staff will face an immediate ban.
7. Do not beat up the managers of the forum!!! We are here to help where possible and ensure the forum operates in a friendly and efficient manner. Decisions made by the Staff may not be discussed on the open Forum. This is to protect the privacy of those who may have complained about others behaviour and to avoid fuelling a row that has already gone to far. Posting on behalf of banned users is not allowed.
Posting Guidelines
1. Threads. Please start new threads in the appropriate sub-forum and avoid starting duplicate threads. Bumping up threads is not allowed unless the subject matter has again become relevant. Where necessary mark threads with ** Spoiler Alerts **. Please stay on topic so that others reading threads can follow the subject easily. Off-topic posts are liable to be moved somewhere more relevant.
2. Posts. Please avoid double-posting and duplicated posts. If you have made an error use the Edit button to correct it or add to your post. Single word answers will only usually be allowed in the Word Association game. Shouting (use of all Capital letters in a post) is considered poor forum etiquette and is best avoided. Flaming, trolling and rubbish posts are likely to be removed if they disrupt the forum. We consider posts to be an integral aspect of this Forum and as such we don't allow members to remove posts "en-masse".
3. Language. English is the language used on this forum and we ask you to avoid using text speak or local dialects which make it more difficult to understand for those who don’t have English as their first language. Foreign words/phrases should be accompanied by a translation into English.
This is a PG-13 forum but we have some younger members so please take care not to use swear words or any other offensive phrases/language.
4. Politics, Sex, Social/National stereotyping and Religion are considered sensitive subjects and Threads may only be opened for them with moderator approval. Please don't make sweeping generalisations about groups of people, or speak on behalf of others without their permission because those in the group that disagree may well object and/or be offended.
5. Spamming advertisements, mass-mailings and over-sized messages are not allowed whether by ‘posts’ or via PM. Spam also includes products or service offerings from outside organisations whether they be for commercial use or not. If you have a tennis website you wish to advertise you may put the link for it in your signature with a size 2 letter setting but do not start threads or post insistently about it.
6. You may not post any offensive material, data, text, files, links, software or other messages that are considered by the management team to be obscene, hateful, vulgar, threatening, harassment, abusive, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable and/or otherwise violate any local or international laws.
7. Please do not post files or material containing any fraudulent or illegal information or material, any virus, worm or other disabling, interfering or disruptive computer code or programming. This includes links in your signature, profile, posted images, photos and avatars.
8. Posting Images. When posting other images besides smileys please only load a maximum of 5 per post (especially in blogs). This will enable other users, some with lower capacity PC's, to view them quickly and avoid clogging up threads.
9. We are advised that posting copyright content might contravene various laws so we ask that you are careful when posting photos and/or articles from news/magazines/blogs/internet sources. Articles may not be copied out in full but it's acceptable to provide a link and short relevant extract as a 'taster'. It is better not to post images unless you have permission from the owner to do so or can provide proper accreditation to support your posting. Photos or images may be removed if the Staff considers their reproduction here is inappropriate or might cause a problem for the website management.
And finally .......
If you have a problem regarding moderator business or decisions please send a PM to the mod concerned or one of the forum Admin Mods who will consider any complaints fairly.
The Forum Staff will have the final say in interpretation of the CoC.
Updates and edits to the CoC may be made at any time at the discretion of the staff so please review them regularly. The CoC applies to both the open Forum and Private Message system.
Whilst these guidelines cover most situations they cannot anticipate every eventuality so we may exercise the right to take appropriate action to ensure the forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. We also reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice and to ban/delete any account for any reason not already given.
