Nicer in South Wales than originally forecast - off out to give the flowers a bit of water shortly. Had thought the rain was coming to save me doing it *sigh* - still mustn't grumble. Hope you got the harvest in in the end Jane.

Yesterday, after a miserable Sunday, was a beautiful Autumn day if a bit too windy. Today is cloudy but bright and the wind has died down.

Think Mr HFW is harvesting as I type - well I hope he is - it has been dry for 2 days and the wind is drying things up - whether the barley is ripening properly or not is another matter but we're at the stage of cutting it whether it's fully ripe or not Hopefully we'll manage to get a lot of it done the next few days as we're meant to get dry weather .... but I shan't hold my breath .... cos it could
