    Re: General Sports Thread

After Sadiq Khan was re-elected the Mayor of London, late last night, UK Sport, the BOA and the BPA have welcomed the news of him trying to help them with getting a future Olympics but they haven't talked to each other yet: http://www.insidethegames.biz/articl...an-olympic-bid I hope we can host it again.

http://www.insidethegames.biz/articl...e-birmingham22 Dame Louise Martin, President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, has said all future Games will be smaller than all the previous ones. They're still waiting for a bidder for the 2026, with just over a year to go until Birmingham, and haven't ruled out co-hosts for the event.

Because they were the only bidder ? If that is the reason, why were they the only city willing to risk getting it. Presumably they have to make a financial 'commitment' to the IOC at this stage, which wouldn't please me if I lived there.
