SHANGHAI MASTERS 2012, FINAL: Nole Nobbles Andy for the title

Andy v Nole meet for the 16th time and are once more facing each other in a Final.

Andy has successfully booked his berth to defend his title with a straightforward victory over Roger Federer 6'4, 6'4. His opponent had a similarly easy Semi beting Berdych 6'3, 6'4 and taking just 10mins less than Andy did to beat Fed.

Nole leads the H2H (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=MC10&oId=D643) 8-7 but their most recent meeting, in THAT incredible 5-setter at the US Open Final, went the way of Muzzah and he can rightly take a lot of confidence from that. Andy is 4-2 up in their Finals; they're 6-6 in their hard court matches. This week though Novak has really played well and his serve is looking awesome so Andy will have battle royal to retain his Shanghai crown. No doubt the Serb will want to win this time.

The match is scheduled for 16.30 local time which is 09.30 in the UK.

I saw most of Novak's match today on TennisTV Catchup and the first six games were probably the best tennis I have seen anybody play (not that I watch as much as others perhaps do) since the USO final.

Having said that, Andy today took his tennis to another level compared to Tokyo and the other Shanghai matches.

So Andy could take it up another level for Novak. If both play at their highest level, it could be three sets (doubt either of them will be able to do it in straights if both play at their best) of lights-out tennis.

Thank goodness Andy did not have to play three hours today, does not have another match the day after tomorrow and can go for it.

I suspect we just might be on for a classic!
