We've arrived at the final big race of the year so hopefully all the chaos and havoc that's been saved up from the last couple of races will be poured out on this one. There's so much saved up it's ready to burst so I've got everyone ready to clean up the impending mess. Don't disappoint people. ;)

As always rules and leaderboard are posted here (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php?1630-Bubble-Gap-Championship-2013&p=116180&viewfull=1#post116180). The aim of this competition is to guess the bubble gap after the US Open. The current race rankings are as follows:

http://imageshack.us/a/img593/3896/e14w.png
The current bubble gap is 3175. That's Andy's score(5430) – Wawrinka's score(2255) = 3175.

Only one 250 event is running this week, Winston Salem. No one left in the draw is in the top 20.

The highest possible bubble gap is 5165. That's Andy defending his title with Wawrinka losing his 1st match.
The smallest bubble gap is 1985. This involves Andy losing his 1st match with Gasquet winning the title and Wawrinka the finalist.

So in summary, your guess is between 1985 and 5165. If you don't want to do any maths then just guess a random number and see how things turn out!
Remember that you can't guess the same number as someone else and once you've posted your guess you can't change it.

Ranking points on offer at the US Open are:

R1: 10
R2: 45
R3: 90
R4: 180
QF: 360
SF: 720
F: 1200
W: 2000

Good luck to all who take part and may the best driver win! :trophy:

Deadline: Monday 26th August, 4.00pm UK time

 Have you mistyped that? You said going for pole, but that's higher than the maximum possible!

We arrive at the final grand slam of the year in Flushing Meadows and with the top of the leaderboard looking so close this is going to be a key race. 14 enthusiastic drivers arrive for the big occasion.

Cincinnati podiumer JAMES4578 easily comes out top this time round, followed by champion contender Linda.
jaysee comes up next with returning driver Golden Lady in 4th.
5th place is filled by another returning driver, Ace! followed by cazza99.
Genbrit, currently 3rd in the championship starts in the 4th row next to Manaus.
Sallydaisy and current championship leader Elenive are the back of the top 10.

Everyone ready? I'm waiting with bated breath for the action to start. I'll get some popcorn...

oops yes I got my 5 and 3 the wrong way round but as its way past the deadline I know it's too late to ask for leniency meant to be 3525 and numbers are supposedly my strong suit as an accountant!!

My mistake is coming back to haunt me even more due to Stan staying in so long as the maximum bubble gap is now down to 4795 I think.

:sleepy: Hmm oh right the race, apparently it started already but like the last 2 races it's started rather subdued. Bernie is biting his broomstick getting increasingly impatient due to the lack of activity. Hopefully action is coming soon, the stewards are all itching for something to happen...

Yorkie

Think the stewards can all go back to sleep as nothing is going to happen. I'll just have to bite my tongue at the thought that I could have been the winner of this if only I could type.

Well, you did say you hoped to be last! ;)

Well, you did say you hoped to be last! ;)

OK technically I agree that is what I wrote but thats just rubbing salt into the wound as I certainly did not want to be last given the number I mistakenly typed

Linda

We've had so many uneventful races lately

Manaus
13-09-2013, 20:16
Well that turned out to be rather uneventful. No-one challenges JAMES4578 for the top spot and the race ends with him passing the finish line without much effort. Oh well pack up the cleaning equipment guys, maybe next time, hopefully?

Well done to JAMES4578, Linda and jaysee. Apologies for being so late with this, been really busy these last few weeks and didn't get to see any of the US Open. Hopefully Andy will bounce back and end the season with a bang. Onwards to Shanghai!

Maybe we should start a bubble gap competition for someone who's really unpredictable - a certain Swiss driver comes to mind... (I don't think there's a smiley for "ducks"?)
