It was almost as if he was commentating for live radio. He went on and on and on; talking about shots played as if those of us watching hadn't seen them! As I said in another post I had to use the mute button to get some relief.

When they did that kissing thing, they showed a couple of couples who didn't kiss and the commentator kept trying to encourage them. They could have been brothers and sisters, so they wouldn't do a full blown kiss on the mouth. They could have done a peck on the cheek or a hug.

Amazing performance from Monica Puig and well deserved winner, some story-certainly didn't think she'd react like this in her first really big ocassion-awesome. She was a semi finalist at Eastbourne and Jo Konta beat her in 1st Round of Wimbledon. Angie Kerber was a bit disappointing in the 3rd but under a lot of pressure and she did fight in the last few games-bit of a marathon at 5-1,Monica done so well to close it out there. Overall a great and entertaining final :cheer::cheer::cheer:

BBC website stayed with coverage to end of medal ceremony - the small number of TV channels have to cover many other sports, website can cover upwards of 40 simultaneously so better to watch online to avoid cut offs.

Monica Puig has withdrawn from Cincinnati citing a lower back injury, I've heard those gold medals are heavy. ;) It's a problem with tennis at the Olympics that players don't get a chance to celebrate as there's always another tournament. I would think she wants to return to a hero's welcome in Puerto Rico, the scenes there overnight have been crazy.
