Well done indeed Aljaz. After Andy's match I went straight to Aljaz's match and he looked very solid and composed. And a Brit in a final tomorrow. Yay! Aljaz did manage something Kyle couldn't do which was to break Pouille in the opening set but got broken 5 of his 8 service games. Pouille played well, both power and finesse (lovely dropshots). Aljaz doesn't have the same power Kyle has to be able to hold his serves against such a player. Pouille's performances in Budapest also confirm just how well Kyle played on Friday in Rouen against him.
Aljaz was troubled throughout the match with a blister on his racquet hand and couldn't shake hands properly at the net and had to give the umpire a left hand shake, but I don't think it would have made any difference in the end. Some sort of weird performance going on now on tennis court before the prize ceremony!

I thought Aljaz played a great match (very impressive serving from him) and was more than capable of living with Milos. There was very little in it! He deserves a few days off now! He's had a long run.
A couple of little (trivial) observations...1. Such a shame the stadium was virtually empty! Hardly anyone there.
2. And it appeared to me the roof was closed? If so, why? As I said, trivial!
