Cameron has won 3 futures in the usa, Tulsa and Wichita in successive weeks in June, he has a very international flavour being born in South Africa, was a New Zealand Junior, college in Texas(TCU) , has a Scottish born father and was taken on by the LTA after a trial in 2013 as reported by the times
Neil Harman Tennis Correspondent
Published at 12:01AM, May 15 2013
Cameron Norrie, who started the year as the No 1 junior player in New Zealand, has become another addition to the swelling ranks of British professionals. The 17-year-old left-hander now has the initials GB after his name, thanks to a Scottish-born father.
Why would they be?
Because their surnames rhyme? Like Andy's famous uncle, the actor Tim Curry!

Cameron recently completed his tennis scholarship at TCU, fort Worth (texas christian university)
For the first time in program history, TCU is represented at the top spot in the singles poll with Cameron Norrie finishing out his career with the No. 1 ranking. After advancing to the singles Final Four a year ago and earning a No. 3 ranking, Norrie went 21-1 in his final season with the Frogs with 19 wins over ranked opponents. In the NCAA tournament, Norrie defeated the No. 2 and No. 3 ranked players and was on an 11-match winning streak. Norrie earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Singles Championship, but chose to join the professional ranks as he earned a wild card to the main draw of Wimbledon.

Cameron started off competing fairly well but unfortunately couldn't quite sustain it and Tsonga has taken control. Obviously tough draw though and hopefully Norrie will benefit from the experience.
Norrie was only playing for experience and I hope he can do better in the future.

Agree that it looks like he ran out of steam tonight but more positives from him with a good build up of points over past 2 weeks. He's down to play the Aptos Challenger next week but perhaps a rest would be more in order.

How long does protected ranking last? Would have thought only a year.....
It is usually but Tursunov petitioned for an extension. This was his 12th PR entry which is the maximum so it should be the end for him. The fact he used his PR to only play the high earning Slams, Masters, 500s and only played a Challenger for the first time in 18 months at Aptos earlier this month shows what his intentions were.
Can't see him beating Carreno Busta in the second round, though I would like him to do it.

Liam’s won, 6:4, 7:6
Shame Cam lost so he won’t be able to show us what he can do again this week. We’ll have to wait a bit longer! However well done Liam because he played well last weekend too.
A win, win/ lose, lose situation for us. What a pity they were drawn together. Is Liam definitely through to the main draw?

Apart from Marbella, unfortunately Cameron has shown little form.for the past 2-3 months. Having said that well done Liam
After what Cameron did, last weekend, I was expecting him to beat Broady. Well done to Liam.

Disappointing for Cameron but wouldn't say totally surprised, hopefully Liam can go further!
Oh no! Cam has drawn Liam in 1st Rd of qualifying at Delray Beach.:grrr:

Well done Cameron, looks like he was in form this time!
Well done, Cam.:clap: and hard luck, Liam . It looked pretty tight in 1st set but Cam took control early in 2nd and didn't ease up.
He plays J-P Smith in final qualifying (H2H 0-2).
Sadly, Cam can't break J-P's hold over him and loses 7-5 6-4.

Oh bit gutting but sure Cameron can bounce back.
Cameron is now in the main draw as a LL. and is due on court tomorrow at 5.30pm (UK) against Chung. Good luck, Cam :thumbup:

Chung now up a break in 3rd, come on Cameron! Very tough now as Norrie broken again and now trails 1-5.
Chung often drops the first set before settling into a match, but this match a bonus for Cam and great experience.
Chung wins the third set 6 - 1 - Bad luck, Cameron:crying:

Chung runs away with 3rd 6-1 to get the win but certainly positives for Cameron to build on.
Well done to Cameron on qualifying for Acapulco. He plays Dominic Thiem in the first round, a bit tough for him.
Yes always a shame when they get through quailies and then have to face a top seed but all experience!
Sadly he lost but at least he took a set off Thiem! Looks like it could have been 5-5 in the third before he lost his serve. Well done Cam!!

Didn't quite get there but a good performance against top ten player 3-6 7-5 5-7 So pretty close. He has done much better in Acapulco than any other tournament in the past few months

Very well done to take a set off Thiem - will help his future confidence
Cam did well to run Thiem so close!
Good to see that Cam came through 1st Rd of qualifying at Indian Wells and next faces Sergei Stakhovsky who is currently 7 places behind him. Could be tricky but go for it Cam!

Comfortable win over Harrison, Stakhovsky could be tough but sure Cameron will be up for it!
Amazing to think that Stakhovsky lost to Andy in the final of the US Open Juniors in 2004 and is now playing Cam in the qualifying of IW. What different paths their careers have taken over the last 14 years.

He peaked at 31 but currently about 10 below Cameron. Match about to start.

It seems close - Cameron broke first game, lost serve for 4-4, broke again and served out to love for 6-4.
