First match as the #1 in waiting, a clear win on 2 sets please Andy, a celebration to take to the o2
The Very, Very, Very Best of Luck Andy!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
What was that nonsense on Breakfast this morning that if Andy swears or breaks his racket today all his points from the tournament will be deducted so he will lose the No 1? I have never heard of this I thought he could have a point deducted in the match and maybe a fine afterwards. Is this some new rule introduced specifically for our Andy as he is now No 1????

it was andy himself who was joking about it yesterday saying if he gets defaulted in his match today he would lose all points from the tournament. an exaggerations obviously as you would have to do smash a lotta raquets to be defaulted. most famouse default recently I recall was nalbanian at queens kicking the line judge think there was also one this year in a Russian tournament for hitting umpire with the ball
Thank you for that. They didn't sound as if they were joking. Perhaps they were not and took it seriously. I only caught the statement as I walked into the room.

well suppose it is theoretically possible, but andys played close to if not over 800 atp matches it would be a strange time to get defaulted today
I heard it as well, rimaril. It was worse on Sky news, this morning. They had Mark Petchey on talking about Andy becoming world number one. The female presenter admitted, she's a big Andy fan (according to her, she hadn't suddenly jumped on the band wagon). She then asked Mark what would have happened if Djokovic hadn't pulled out of his match against Andy yesterday. Duh!! Not an Andy fan, as she would have known it was Raonic.
It's going to be another Andy win. Isner might win a set.

This is an important match. Not justto have another masters title under his belt, but to put a bit of daylight in the ranking points between Andy and Djoko. At the moment, Andy is a mere 5 points ahead, with an extra 400 points up for grabs today. There's a lot of points up for grabs at the o2 and the 400 points would give Andy a little breathing space.
All the very best of luck, Andy
An inadvertent racquet/ball hitting a linesperson/ballkid/crowd member plus an umpire looking for infamy and there's your DQ, ask Tim Henman. ;)
Isner said his match against Cilic yesterday was his best performance of the season, let's hope it stays like that. When asked about the drubbing he got in Vienna from Andy, I thought it cool that Isner didn't mention his blistered hand and straight out said he got his "clock cleaned". Many wouldn't be so honest.

Hoping for a great match and great win so that you can cement tha no1 position on a court.
Good luck Andy
Just started with the intro - great moments in his career - largely consisting of an excited Mark Petchey commentating.
Andy wins the toss and elects to serve. Dumusois is the umpire.

Isner is playing well other than the DF to give Andy the BP. Tiny margins which Andy capitalised on.

Mm there were at least a couple of slightly tired from Andy in that set... not much but hopefully his competitive instincts will kick in. Has to serve well and hold and hope for a less good service game from Isner or be rock solid should it come to a tiebreak. C'mon Andy!
Andy serving first at least in the 3rd. What chance a third set TB? That'll be fun. ;)
