Definitely agree with "bigging up" Treacle. Not only has he been there "for ever", he is the one who is ALWAYS encouraging Andy whatever the state of the match or Andy.
Take a bow sir!

Looking at the 'team' photograph I also feel a very special warmth to Matt Little. 'Treacle' is the only one who has been there from the very beginning, always smiling, always loyal.
Aww yes I love Matt. He favourited a few of my tweets to him in recent weeks congratulating him and Team Murray. It's so nice to know that they read them and know how proud we all are of them all

At times on Saturday it was hard to know what was entertaining us more- the tennis or watching wee Matt. Love his enthusiasm and likewise have loved him liking my tweets as it's good to know they are being read and appreciated.

The Semi final I thought I was going to be sick, the final I was so nervous for Andy, not felt like that in a very long time. However, I grew quietly confident when Andy seemed calm and had all the answers. What an achievement clever boy. Really pleased for him and Jamie and of course Bruno.
Wonderful to express it this way with the new rankings! I wonder if anybody has ever done that before at the WTF.
Andy's not the first but he's in good company. ;)

I am going to watch the match when my partner is out on Wednesday evening. Didn't record any as I thought if I did he would lose!

You must be exhausted - I was and that was from watching it on TV!
Radio five live re-played the Andy Murray story, last night at 10pm. They included Andy winning the World Tour Finals.
This morning, I heard, Andy believed he was too young to receive a knighthood.
I confess that I really though he was going to lose. It didn't enter my head that 2 hours after starting, I would be dishing up celebratory ice cream to the mutt.
I went out and bought all the newspapers yesterday, there are so many beautiful pictures. He so deserves all of this. It is great to see him so relaxed and happy with his prizes.
I really think this is one of his finest triumphs. Getting through the group of death to claim the main prize, emphatically destroying Djokovic in the process.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I am exhausted. He has been on his longest run, but so have his fans. I think we all deserve kudos for summoning up the energy for "one more match", and keeping up with him.....!!!
Yes and ready to do it all again next year Teresa!
I am still smiling!!!! :) :) :)

OK Fine...he needs to wait until 2017 when he is older at 30 :big grin:

Not counting royalty Ellen MacArthur was made a dame at the age of 28 and Jackie Stewart, the youngest to be knighted was 24. So Andy, if it's offered accept.:worship:

I crammed all my work into the "off-days" and have not had time to even come on here since. But just wonderful. We can just rest our case. He has done what we always believed.

I love the fact that the trophies lack any subtlety at all. They are full on, in your face **** you trophies. Look at me I am the best.
I also loved the look on his face "What - you mean they are both for me?"
I will be honest, I couldn't see him pulling this off. I thought the Raonic match would catch up with him.
haha - they are really glitzy trophies - you are right. They need to come with a personal polisher in butler uniform complete with white gloves! Love it! He's like the kid who got every toy in the shop for Christmas! So happy!

He sure has. I was lucky enough to be at the 02 for every AM match except the Andy vs Cilic match. I will never forget this week. I thought that seeing the Davis Cup Final live would never be topped but now I'm not so sure. I stood in the arena unable to believe what I'd seen on Sunday.
The Raonic match was the most stressed I've been watching Andy since Wimbledon 2013 and much of it was as agonising as that famous last game. After the final Andy came by my section of the court and I got my 3rd selfie with him. I had made a hat for wearing at his matches and this tournament it got its first outing. He said "I like your hat" which just added some extra joy to the whole week. In the selfie, he's staring at it admiringly - not at the camera haha!
Since Sunday I've had to catch up on loads of work that I couldn't do last week due to being at the 02 5 days in all but have just read through lots of our comments. So pleased for all the Murray fans too. Wonderful times. Just brilliant.:cheer:

John Harrison has done an impartial article on the BBC website about Andy's knighthood. He's claimed Ellen MacArthur was 28, when she became a Dame.
sir coolerking

Andy has himself said that he feels too young for a knighthood and that there's a chance he could yet mess up. I wonder if that's an indirect reference to a knighted cyclist who now seems somewhat tainted?
The Andy Murray story on 5 Live is really worth a listen, it's available to download as a pod cast. I sobbed to myself all the way through as I drove home from work .... emotional wreck! I won't be deleting it in a hurry though ... it will be listened to again and again! What a champion he is, absolutely awesome! Never, ever gives up does he? Roll on 2017 but in the mean time, I will devote some overdue time to my husband and look forward to Christmas.
One of the things that struck me about the World Tour Finals was how many ‘firsts’ Andy achieved.
As mentioned before, it was the first time he’d won 2 matches in a row since Tour Finals have been held in London. Ditto for all 3 RR matches of course – although he did achieve that in Shanghai Masters in 2008.
The absolute firsts:
- First time making it past the semi final of Tour Finals (was his 4th semi final appearance - 2008, 2010, 2012 the others)
- First time winning the title (of course!)
- First time beating Djokovic on indoor HC (had been 0-4 on Head to Head indoors)
- First time beating all other top 5 players in 1 tournament
- First time Year End number 1
All of those in the space of just over 24 hours!
Plenty of other firsts during the season too, of course! Rome, Paris, RG final, Olympic Gold defence, world no. 1, parenthood..
I think there are not many things that motivate a player more than the chance to do something that they have never done before. Andy has already stated that his focus is on slams next year – will definitely highly motivational for him to get his slam count higher - and 2 of them he is yet to win. He’s currently in the best possible position to redress that balance, I'd say.
Wow!! Just finished reading all the comments and catching up.
What an awesome match, many happy tears and so so happy. You have all said everything.
ANDY MURRAY, OUR NUMBER 1 and now the WORLD #1. So deserved, the hard work has paid off.

I have gone for the Paris Masters one, and the one with him kneeling in front of the two WTF trophies. I did suggest to the seller they did a full set.

Look on the BBC Tennis page. I couldn't find it when I did a google search but picked it up from the Tennis page. Very emotional indeed. Any Andy fan will be in tears.
