After all these years I still wonder why oh why do lines judges and umpires get involved in calling balls out?

The receiver is close enough most of the time to make his own judgement as to if they want to challenge.
In that scenario Fed should have had to challenge and would have lost one.
Now we have probably been cheated out of a TB
I know Stan could'ave challenged and should'ave but it's harder for the player on the other side of the net.
He's further away.

Whilst was hoping for 3 Setter not really surprised Fed was a convincing winner. Stan had his moments but for most part was hanging on. Once that break negated in 2nd felt it was only going one way. Roger in some incredible form with both power and guile and still seems pretty fresh,moving really well. Been some comeback thus far and and at the moment wouldn't rule anything out. Will be up to all the top players including Andy to respond.

Don't know how Federer is doing it but he almost looks back to his best. Amazing really. Can't wait until Andy comes back to give him some competition.

I have to agree james, it is for the other top guys to now try and match his level. When Djoko had that incredible in 2011 everyone upped their games afterwards. Hopefully others will match it much sooner. It's a shame djoko and Murray will sit out Miami as we will have to wait longer for their response. Hopefully nadal, raonic and Stan amongst others will find another level in Miami to compete with federer. A great win for him though and good play from Stan :)

I think vomit was my first reaction. Whatever else Federer is, he is not a sex symbol in my opinion. It looks as naff as heck. AM's pictures of Rusty and Maggie with his trophies are much nicer.
