Certainly the way to end the first week of a GS. Andy should come out refreshed and raring to go in the second week!
And he will have gained a lot more fans from that interview!

Yes of course certainly all went to plan today and hopefully Andy can peak at the right time in the 2nd week! He didn't waste too much energy today and was more ruthless even it it was such an entertaining match! Hopefully a few more folk will see the other side of Andy to that which is often potrayed in the media!

I loved the match point at end, perfect lob just inside the line. Brilliant ending to match.
Such an entertaining match, played in a wonderful spirit and how refreshing to see Andy as a player and as a person really being appreciated.

The icing on the cake today?
Who better to appreciate Andy at close hand playing like that than Llodra, who won two AO GS Doubles Finals along with the other magician..... Santoro! :)
Didn't see the last set, but the first two sets were staggering tennis. Llodra obviously allowed/made Andy to use his full range of winners but didn't he do so with consummate ease. 48 winners and 11 errors is phenomenal. Exciting times.

Lots of Scottish flags n fans at Hisense 2nite + Flower of Scotland during Llodra's injury break :) http://yfrog.com/oeacvssj

it means a subject or person that a lot of people are talking about :)

Thanks for that - so is there some sort of total made about the most popular topic?ye they look for common themes , and update who/what is popular any any given time, the clever part s they can calculate trends locally nationally and globally

Andy stopped tweeting - and since he stopped he's kept winning so it seems he'll not be back on twitter anytime soon. He updates on Facebook only now. Not sure about the oriental twitter tbh and whether it's really Andy tweeting?
As to the bit about golf - that's classic Andy banter which just shows that he and Ivan are getting along well already!
;)
That interview after the match was gold...
'I'm gonna go out and get hammered.'
I took the Lendl comment as teasing Mr Lendl tbh

What a day to be an Andy Murray fan ! He was superb out there today and obviously enjoyed the match, played in such great spirit. The two of them were so mutually appreciative.
Llodra was threatening the second serve so much and there was a time when Andy might have cracked but instead he increased his first serve percentage and cut down on any errors. Amazing  Well done Andy

Disappointed that thanks to Serena, Monfils/Kushy, Hewitt/Raonic, I didn't get to see Andy on telly (again). Delighted to read about it though! So pleased he won.

Well done Andy!! Really enjoyed watching that match. Both Andy and Llodra were so entertaining. It's a long time since I've watched Andy in a Slam lying relaxed in bed throughout. Loved his on-court interview...so relaxed and funny.

Here's the match highlights on the AO website -scroll along to Murray Llodra.
There's also 'shot of the day' from their match - on set point which Andy won to take the 2nd 6'2.
And the other one where Andy hit Llodra with a volley and they hugged at the net.

Thanks for that john - a great interview - so good to see Andy looking so relaxed. Our power went off in the middle of the second set (I wasn't nice to know!) and didn't come back on until the end of the Hewitt match so it's great to read all your comments - I obviously missed some great tennis. Well done Andy - onwards and upwards!!!!
Can you imagine what it would be like one day if a French fan said "Wow! That's three Brits in a row at a GS!"
I'm struggling

Extract from Llodra's presser:
Q. I know you tried to enter mixed doubles once with Amélie. Would you think about trying to get her to come back for the Olympics?
MICHAEL LLODRA: Never. No, no, it was ideal for me to play with her last year in French Open. But, you know, if she has to play with me, she has to do all the Anti‑Doping Program, which is too difficult.
No, I love to play with her, but it's not possible.
Q. Jo‑Wilfried is playing without a coach possibly. There is a possibility he could play Murray in the quarters. Will you two speak? Will he come to you, in other words?
MICHAEL LLODRA: Yeah, but we don't have the same game. I'm lefty. He's righty. He already beat him. So, I mean, it's totally different. Is going to be a quarterfinal match.
But they have to win, both of them, before first. Anything can happen with Jo. You know, it depends how fit is he.
But it's tough. With Andy, if he's playing like that, it's going to be a big fight.
Q. He's doing some damage to the French.
MICHAEL LLODRA: Yeah, yeah. Like always. ****.
Q. You know that word in English?
MICHAEL LLODRA: Yeah (smiling).
BTW the context of the first question was that he is a doubles player but cannot play mixed doubles at present in the Olympics because no French female player is in a qualifying position at the moment. What is it about the drugs testing and Mauresmo?
presume he is refering to the fact she served a ban at some stage and will therfore be subject to lots of drugs testing, also i think if you cmome out of retirement wada insist you cant compete for a year or so to allow for out of combitition testing

I don't remember Mauresmo being banned???
But you're spot on regarding the "out of competition" drug testing.
There's this from her Wiki page:
At the 2011 French Open (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_French_Open), Mauresmo was set to be reunited with Llodra, making her professional return in the mixed doubles competition, but was disqualified before competing, as she had not re-registered for the anti-doping procedures required to compete on the tour.
brilliant match!! - brilliant play from Andy!! - brilliant interview to finish!!
in a word - brilliant!! :cheer:

Nice one :-) RT @TMSTennis: Andy Murray has made the final of every tournament he has played Michael Llodra in. (Metz '07 & US Open '08).

Or it could be that she is taking prescribed medicine or taking stuff that could cause problems like cold and flu remedies - or just plain and simple like above - she just hadn't registered.
The match was so entertaining and I enjoyed every point, be it from Andy or Mike L. I luvvvvv the Red Shoes too. just brilliant match played with such good humour and friendly. His fav film "Braveheart" Go Andy Go Andy !!!!! GOOD LUCK FOR NEXT MATCH :trophy::trophy::trophy: I'm going to be watching it all over when it's repeated at 5PM I think.

Mauresmo certainly was never banned but as others have said she wasn't signed up to the anti-doping programme after her retirement. I mind this being an issue at the French and thus she wasn't able to play the mixed.
That was one of the best and most entertaining matches I have EVER watched! The shots, the fun, the touches, the skill, the moments of genius. And great sportsmanship! We all knew Andy was awesome but hopefully even more people are seeing that!
Randomly, can anyone else imagine an exhibition match between Andy and Bahrami? Would be AMAZING!

Going to have to stop watching the match..and match highlights..shot highlights..and interviews repeatedly now, boyfriend getting a bit bored lol. love llodra..love all the french players infact! (maybe wouldnt be saying this if he'd won of course!). nole looking in scarily good form but my hope is he is peaking too early and murray is getting sharper and quicker each match..this will have done wonders for his confidence. his attitude is so much better, though i never minded him ranting and raving a bit but he seems like he's occasionally having a mini rant..then letting it go. i guess this will be tested deeper into the tourny. right..time for game set and mats!!!
could not force myself to get up for this one , but have just watched a replay . Wow Andy played awesome !!!
Very entertaining match !!! High hopes for the next one , and yayyy better timing for me :)

AMAZING Andy!!! This was indeed a masterclass performance from OUR boy! Even Llodra showed that he recognised this as he clowned around at the net, unsure of where Andy was going to strike next! And SO good to see Andy more in control of his emotions on court....Mr. Lendl's influence is paying off already, it seems!
Let's not put TOO much pressure on him, though, as there is still a long way to go to the finishing line!
Judging by today's standard of play I have NO DOUBT, however, that Andy's Grand Slam win will come one day soon, even if it isn't at THIS tournament!
Well done, Andy, I'm really proud of you!!

Thanks, Sallydaisy, it's good to be back! Recent quiet spell due to hubby being in hospital (Christmas week!) for hip replacement op......I've been nurse, carer, secretary etc etc but he's doing really well, thankfully! However, I HAVE been watching Andy's progress, as always!
REALLY looking forward to DC at Braehead.....wouldn't it be wonderful to welcome home a Grand Slam Champ??

I think it would probably end up being a bit of a anti-climax - did you see the WTC tourney at Adelaide with Llodra, Wawrinka, Bahrami Leconte & Brad G etc?
Some of the skills these guys have at the net is unbelievable, but poor Stan looked out of his depth there - Bahrami, Leconte & Llodra were hitting volleys for fun, but it seemed every time Stan got near the ball at would bounce of his racquet for a (accidental) winner.
I'm sure Andy would put on a better show, but hopefully it'll be a long time before he needs to think about it - although I did think Andy's match with LLodra was much more entertaining than the exo one he had with Stan
It was crazy to see some of the stuff Llodra was up to the week before a slam - like climbing over the fence at the back of the court to rally with Bahrami over Leconte's head, hitting a fantastic winner then climbing up and jumping off the fence (had my hands over my eyes as I thought he was going to get his foot caught an end up on his face) :sofa:
And I don't think I've ever seen Brad Gilbert speechless, but he was LLodras choice of attire! Even Johnny Mac got in on the act, (but you know he was doing it for a bet)
always said Andy feeds of the energy o the crowd, it showed during this match e had them eating the pam of his hand
