All the women coming forward about Harvey Weinstein, reminded me of when it happened to me. In 2011, I went to the Albert Hall to watch the tennis. When I walked in, the security guard asked me to take my coat and top off as he wanted to see my breasts. I was so appalled by this, that I complained to a member of staff. All he got was a warning.

I'm glad Trading Standards will be looking at all the secondary ticket websites, like Viagogo, to see how they actually operate (like how they get the tickets and how quickly they resell them). On my local news, yesterday, a woman had been charged over £3,000 for four tickets to see Peter Kay. When she complained and asked for her money back, they refused and told her to resell them on their website.

I talked to Keith on radio 1 once. He used to host the breakfast show with his wife (can't remember her name at the mo') and Tony Blackburn way back when and I called in to do a quiz and won it. Rail fares go up, yet again. The Chief Executive of Network Rail got a very good grilling on radio five live, this morning, about why people should pay the extra increase when the bosses are getting pay increases and a big bonus. Of course, he wouldn't answer the question about it. I only take the train if I have to be in London for some reason. Every time I have to go there, or anywhere else that's a long way from Exeter, I always drive there. It usually costs me between £15 and £20, whereas I wouldn't be surprised if the price for me getting the train would be in three figures.

You know I think this is great. Too bad they're not doing it at Rogers Cup. There are no water fountains on the ground or in the washrooms. Why? Because they have a major bottled water sponsor that charges 10 times more for a bottle you'd get in a supermarket. Disgusting. So I hope this type of thing becomes more widespread.

This is the new timetable, starting 4 April 2018. There is a 30-minute check-in at London St Pancras. There is no check-in at Amsterdam or Rotterdam in the inwards direction as in the early stages passports & security checks will be carried out off-train in Brussels, read the important note under this timetable.

Ashford is listed in the how to check-in section and there's no time next to Ebsfleet in the timetable, b/c the former has beaten the latter to be the intermediary station and is due to be added to the route later in the year. Not sure when though, depends on some KCC impact report - hopefully by the time the direct return has been finalised.

Whereas the BBC states the weakest were brought out first.

It has assembled a team of internationally renowned divers and so far their expertise has brought four boys - thought to be the weakest - back to their families
Which might make more sense as they'd need medical treatment quicker.
It's such a risky operation, I really hope they succeed in getting the other 8 boys and the coach out safely before more rain comes and flooding makes it impossible.

09-07-2018, 01:44
This is an excerpt from the AP press release:

"Narongsak said the healthiest have been taken out first, and the next phase of the operation would start in 10-20 hours."

I also heard on the news, the reasoning was that they thought they had more chance with the healthiest boys on what would be a first time of using their escape plan.

Who knows which is correct, but it's all very sad and I just can't imagine how those boys and their families are feeling.

It's amazing that they all managed to survive so long before they were found though. i have to believe, and I hope and pray they will all be saved.

From an interview with one of the divers in the Guardian
-

Rescuers planned to start with the strongest boy, said Changkwanyuen. “But the Australian doctor Richard Harris evaluated the boys and said everyone was equally strong – so they picked among themselves to see who would come out first,” he said.

Thai officials said this week that the ultimate decision was made by the boys’ coach, Ekaphol Chantawong. “The coach selected. He wrote the order down: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,” said Narongsak Osatanakorn, the head of the joint command centre coordinating the operation

In fact it is said the first boy out was chosen by the coach and the other boys as he had a lucky or spiritual name. edit Mongkol Boonpiam - Mongkol means 'auspicious' and Boonpiam means 'full of merit.

Yes it was an amazing ending. Must stay I am still fascinated by it. The interviews with the cave diver rescuers tend to give a lot more information of what went on. An article in the Sunday Times today was very good.

It was also good to read that the rescuers felt the boys and coach had done nothing wrong and were just unlucky - apparently it is several weeks later than the end of June when the caves are expected to flood. In fact the UK caver who has been spending a lot of time in the caves recently exploring them and knew them well had planned to do a long solo trip in them on the Sunday the boys were reported missing.

The government wants us to have a big festival in 2022. They're also planning of putting the stamp duty up for the foreigners and the money will go to help the homeless people. I know Australia put their stamp duty up by 5% for any foreigner wanting to buy a home there, quite some time ago.
