I guess they won't update the Rome leaderboard until the Madrid one is finished. So we'll miss out on the excitement of seeing ourselves in 1st place (albeit along with 18,000 others) before the inevitable slide to 9,000th or thereabouts (except Sally who may be rather pleased).
The overall Rome leaderboard will be up. Its the group list that will be affected though as I guess it will still be showing Madrid group results while Rome is going on.

What on earth has happened to Davydenko!
He just won the 2nd set but Lorenzi has broken him in the opening game of the 3rd.
Score currently Davydenko 3'6, 6'2, *0-2.
Davy took some time off the tour - injuries and then his wife had their first child so he's a bit short of match practice.

Lovely 0 from 2 already
Madrid was an awful torny for me, hopefully Rome will be better! Good luck everyone!
If anyone picked Fed to win, can they check and see whether the Bracket's been updated?

Well done Genbrit!
I have assumed it is the final score as they have added the points and changed the leaderboard etc for Madrid. I tried to go into one or two member brackets to check and they showed the Rome brackets for those members - I couldn't check any Madrid ones to confirm. But the scores after the semis seem similar to those after the final. Maybe none of our members chose Fed to win :)

I don't know if it helps but I took a snapshot of the Madrid Bracket just before they started the Federer/Berdych Final. I don't know if any of our peeps picked either of those 2 to win but that's the only thing that could have affected the points after my 'piccy' - see post #502.

I can at least confirm that there have been no points added for Rome when I put the scores up.
I reckon you're right, none of us picked Fed to win so it didn't make any difference within our group.

And if someone did, then they would have shot up as there were a lot of points for the winner. I am assuming that noone picked the winner.
It will let me check profiles for Madrid now, and I checked a few and noone had chosen Fed :)
Only 19% of the bracket chose Fed.
Well I'm glad the Rome results are not showing yet. I think I only have 4 out of 6
I've only got 3 out of 6

You've only just realised? Here's a useful link (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/profile.php?do=addlist&userlist=ignore&u=60)!

Oh dear what on earth happened to the Dog!?
Dolly apparently has a stomach upset.
This is a much better day. 8/8 so far today :)
And Almagro wins! That's 9/9 for the day so far! :cheer: (Although I shall probably find that another 10,000 people got the same :rolling:)
8/9 for me, got the Baggy match wrong. Don't know what came over me but I've chosen Kohly to beat Isner. Hopefully that works out!
I hope not - I picked Isner!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
. . . I think I'm about to cross Isner off my Christmas card list. :grrr:
Isner has been absolutely dire in this match. He's just not bothering to run after balls and looks like he'd rather not be there.
I should have posted earlier - he's suddenly started trying! Kohli serving for the match and got broken.
And Isner takes the second set! Vamos! :swingin:
Sallydaisy
14-05-2012, 20:40
Lolz. Isner takes the 2nd set 7'6 and is a break up already in the 3rd set.
EDIT - and with a hold the American is 2-0* in the decider.
Isner breaks again and will serve for the match! :big grin:
. . . and he wins, giving me 10/10 for the day! :yahoo:

Isner wins. Heck of a comeback from being a game away from defeat in the 2nd set.

Never picking that muppet Kohli again, two tournaments he's biten me in the *** now. Sigh
I can't wait until the tennis gets back to a proper surface...
It's currently on the best surface of all!
Not such a good day for me today, I've dropped about 1,000 places!
I think I can safely say that I won't drop 1000 places tomorrow!
Well, you could drop 821 places!
A better day again today. All right so far except, of course, for my dead match.
Isner into a 3rd set now after losing the 2nd on a tiebreak (5-7), I'm guessing the majority have picked him to go through!

I had Isner losing to Kohli in the round before, Kohli of course served for that match  Needless to say could do with Seppi winning this. Did well to win that last set, has the backing of the crowd too!
Isner finally holds. Hopefully he will go on to win now.
Eek, Seppi breaks, looks like he will win now.

Eek, Seppi breaks, looks like he will win now.
I can't really say I'm unhappy about that - I can't seem to warm towards Isner at all...
No no no! I need Isner to win for bracket purposes!
And Seppi does indeed win.
Noo. I have Isner down to win. :crying:
I had Isner to win - it's my first loss today apart from my dead match (the wrong Spaniard beat Fognini). But I'm rather pleased for Seppi, he played a really gutsy match.
DaveArneRiise
16-05-2012, 19:36
Deserved win for Seppi, Isner rode his luck in the previous round big time so happy he's gone out. Much better day for myself, 11 from 13 and my dead matches went my way as well.
Kudos to James for taking the lead!
Well, you could drop 821 places!
So should i view a 717 place drop as a success? :rolling:
I dropped like a stone today :(
Looks like another one going wrong - DelPo seems very lacklustre today.

I'm ready ...........
http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/banana/t0232.gif
Bracket challenge draw for Toronto will be out late on Saturday.
Deadline Monday 6th August.
This competition is definitely going ahead at least, make your picks now!
http://challenge.atpworldtour.com/
Oh blimey, I forgot about this! I was sure that Andy would withdraw from Toronto so didn't think I'd have to enter any comps but must do this one. Is the deadline Monday morning (our time)? Will have to do Sunday night (will be very quick guesses for this one, too busy).
It says 3pm GMT (4pm BST) Monday but that doesn't tie in with their countdown...

Just done my picks. 3 hours to go until it closes.
Done mine. I think this is one of the hardest brackets this year as you have to guess who is going to play in addition to picking the winners.
I have made some interesting picks in this one!
I did it last night, just went down the list clicking randomly really. Never have I put so little effort into it before - but as you say, we've no idea if any of them will actually turn up or not.
Potty and Tsonga out, oh dear my top half is looking very red now!
I'm in the bottom 30 out of the whole 12000-odd...
Bring on Cinci!
I was so pleased when I looked at lunchtime on Monday and was 67th. Since then I've been heading steadily downwards!
I'm in the bottom 30 out of the whole 12000-odd...

I'm near the bottom too, but surprisingly I have only gone down to 145th overall in the circuit.
Wow, Cazza, 145th overall is really good!

Awesome Cazza! Unfortunately missed Toronto but will certainly do Cinci!
Entrants may wish to adjust their bracket after Isner's withdrawal.
Also, for last-minuters like me, qualies will not be placed before the deadline.

Deadline is now 21.00 UK time (16.00 Cincinnati).
Thanks for Isner information Hawkeye!

Wow, Cazza, 145th overall is really good!
Unfortunately its downhill from now as I thought Nole would get knocked out or withdraw by the semis as he was involved so late in the Olympics. Looks like he will win the tournament now. I was hoping I could make it to the top 100 by the end of the year.

Great start to Cincy - 0/2.
The ATP haven't yet updated the Cincy Bracket draws/scores.
If you want to check how you fared for Toronto this is our 'group' state of play as of this morning.
It'll be over-written when they start Cincy scoring.

A good Masters for me this time, even if we didn't see Andy best form! Well done Vixs and Arabest too!
Well done James.
The Shanghai Bracket Challenge is now open!
Deadline is 8am on Sunday.
http://challenge.atpworldtour.com/
Done so I don't forget - not likely to be up at 8am tomorrow, so no chance to wait and see the outcome of the Raonic Nishikori match.

I've also entered without waiting for the qualifiers to be placed this time!
Yikes.  Had no idea there was such a short deadline. I have travelled down to the family house today and am tired and thought I would just pop on here before going to bed.
:phew: When I made my prediction the deadline was 7am so made mine as I didn't expect to be up in time.......then it was 8am......then 9am and I thought I'd deffo have been up by 9 if not 8...........thank goodness I did put my guess in early. Woke up at 9.30 this morning. Unheard of! We must be tired I guess.
interesting table ;)

oi. swat????? It just comes naturally :p
The way the ATP Bracket loads the scoring towards the semi and final, there's two possible results -
If Andy beats Fed tomorrow, I'll get my best ever result (by miles!) even if he then loses the final (Andy winning the final would put it up there with my USOpen pickem result...)
But if Andy loses to Fed, I'll be plumetting like a stone :sofa:
Make it happen please, Andy!
I'm getting vertigo. Hope it continues

I watched the movie 'Vertigo' this afternoon
:crying:From 33rd down to 2781st in one match!:smashed:
Well done to JAMES4578 for being top of our group.
Was hoping my winner pick of Djoko would be wrong. Actually had Andy down at first but changed my mind at the last minute as I had concerns about his health.

Would've been happy if I'd been proved wrong, but some consolation guess!
The draw is now up on the Bracket Challenge. Deadline is Monday at 10.00 am GMT.

Good luck everyone, the last Bracket Challenge of the year. Be a lovely end of the competition to have a forum member win one bracket!

Horrified to login to my bracket this afternoon and see I had the Djoker in Shanghai, I was sure I had Andy when I posted the above.

With Fed now not going to Paris, what does this mean for the bracket?

Haven't done mine yet, wonder if we will find out in time though as will probably have to do it tonight. Good luck everyone!
Paris is always the most difficult to predict as you never know which player is tired and which one is going to give his all.
Lucky loser Hanescu steps in and gets a bye!
Jerzy Janowicz (remember him from the Davis Cup?) takes me from the 6000's to 1015th!! Shame my other Davis Cup pick, Martin Klizan, didn't do so well!
I forgot when I made my picks that everything is topsy turvy in Paris
I didn't, yet I'm still last.

It's Paris ... it's a nightmare .... oh well
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Dammit has just done a dammit. Just cos I chose Gasquet to progress cos Federer dropped out. Where is J's parachute.

Meanwhile, muppet Llodra goes and wins when I've got Isner to the QF :grrr:
Nole has wrecked my bracket, I had him winning the title. Wonder if he lost on purpose in order to rest for next week :grrr:

Wonder if he lost on purpose in order to rest for next week :grrr:
He arrived early to Paris to train (last Wed) but over the weekend his Dad was rushed to hospital with respiratory problems. Nole was sick on court on Monday, flew to Serbia Monday night to be with family (cancelling a long arranged media event) and flew back late Tuesday to be ready for today.
I suspect his father's illness is probably weighing on his mind rather than Paris or London.
Ah, right. I didn't know all that - I'm not up to date with anything really.

Yes shame for Nole, it certainly wasn't ideal preparation!
Up to 187th somehow - but parachute at the ready - I only have five possible scoring matches left and both my finalists have gone... Time to virtually drown my sorrows! :wino:
Well that's 96% of people who haven't got a winner now !! This ones pretty much dead in the water for me now. I was feeling smug about having Potty to beat Djok, but since that match is now LLLLLLLLLodra v Querry, not so smug now. This is actually worse than Pickem.
Definitely worse than pickem - with the scoring system weighted so much towards the overall winner, you get virtually no credit for a few decent (OK, lucky!) 1st & 2nd round picks. :smashed:
It's total carnage now. After the big swing JWT v Pics, every other match is dead for most people. JWT is 8% to win his semi, any possible winner of any other match has a maximum of only 3% who can be right.
Even more strange, Tipsy was breaks down in the final set, and has now suddenly won - can anyone enlighten there ?
Edit , livescores have changed their mind and Jano has won now in their opinion. I doubt they'll be more that half dozen people out of 13,000 with any live pick in the top Semi now. I havn't worked it out, but I suspect the Gorilla from pickem would be well up with the leaders.....
I thought Tipsy retired so Janowicz won?
This bracket has been a complete disaster for me - I only have one live match left.

I still have Tsonga in as a Semi-Finalist but that's about it - and the way things are going he might lose anyway!
I had Dammit to get to the semis after Fed opted out :rolling: At least Simon beat Berdbrain - I haven't looked at the stats but I guess that may have reduced the damage a bit.
Got Tsonga as a finalist, apart from that my bracket is dead, and will probably be fully dead within the hour
None of the 3 overall leaders have any more scoring matches. It will be down to whether Ferrer wins his semi and hence the people who picked him to beat Nole are the only ones with a real chance of progress now.
0.2 % ( est 26 people ) had Simon to the final , I'm guessing 0 have Jano or LLLLod here. 2.5% for Ferrer to final, so odds against anyone out of the 13,000 have both finalists. Anyone of th lucky 100 or so who have Ferrer to win it are alost guaranteed top 100 overall. I'll laugh if it's a Jano v LLodra final, that really would be a fitting tribute to how seriously the Paris masters is taken !
Not a great way to end the 2012 Bracket Challenge really, oh well, there's always next year!

Didn't exactly go to plan for Andy or many of us! Though Paris usually has it's fair share of carnage we don't always learn! Overall though I suppose my year wasn't too bad!
