I think it was one of the things he really wanted, but being self effacing didn't think he would get. It still makes me smile his account of his rush to get downstairs when the knock on the door came, just as he must have thought it wasn't him, and he was going to bed.

Unfortunately I won’t be playing in Cincinnati as I continue my recovery. I always enjoy playing there and I look forward to returning next year. I’m continuing to work hard on the court with the aim of being in New York.

Andy Murray, today announced that Glasgow based charity, Sunny-sid3up, will join Unicef as charity partner at this year’s Andy Murray Live, presented by SSE. Sunny-sid3up is a Govan-based charity which focusses on tackling projects that improve lives and communities in Scotland and overseas.
Murray said, “I am really pleased that Andy Murray Live can support another Glasgow based charity and make a real difference to the lives of those in need in Scotland and further afield. The work that Sunny-sid3up do was a real inspiration to me. As well as supporting Unicef, it is important to me that each year my event can benefit a local Scottish charity – the first Andy Murray Live gave a real boost to Young People’s Futures and this year I am confident that we can do even better for Sunny-sid3up.”

Hi everyone...
Just wanted to update you all on my injury and the rest of my season.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to compete in the upcoming events in Beijing and Shanghai, and most likely, the final two events to finish the season in Vienna and Paris due to my hip injury which has been bothering me the last few months.
Having consulted with a number of leading hip specialists over the last week, along with my own team, we have decided that this is the best decision for my long-term future.
Although this has been a frustrating year on court for many reasons, I’m confident after this extended period of rest and rehabilitation that I will be able to reach my best level again and be competing for Grand Slam titles next season.
I will be beginning my 2018 season in Brisbane in preparation for the Australian Open and I’m look forward playing in Glasgow later this year against Roger for UNICEF UK and Sunny-sid3up.
I have a fantastic team working alongside me to help me through this process and appreciate the support from them and all of my fans over this difficult period.

Have received a message from Nial Erskine about the event in Dunblane selling Andy/Jamie products for charity. Think they were both there as photographs showed them holding tee shirts and mugs. About 50 items left, children's tees, mugs and tea towels. Three items for £20. It's on his Facebook page as well as Judy's.Can you please share on social media also.

That's great I didn't get chance to message him to see if I could order until v late Friday so it was Saturday before we 'chatted'. Was so pleased there were still mugs left. Definitely not underestimating the power of social media- as a result of tweeting about Aer Lingus not responding to our compensation claim they have promised to escalate it- and if all goes quiet again ... well, I'll just tweet again!

Hey everyone.. Just wanted to write a little message on here for anyone interested in what in going through right now.
Firstly I want to apologise to @brisbanetennis for withdrawing at late notice and to everyone who wanted to come along to watch me play(or lose😇) The organisers couldn't have been more understanding and supportive and I'll always remember that. Thank you.
I've obviously been going through a really difficult period with my hip for a long time and have sought council from a number of hip specialists. Having been recommended to treat my hip conservatively since the US Open I have done everything asked of me from a rehab perspective and worked extremely hard to try get back on the court competing. Having played practice sets here in Brisbane with some top players unfortunately this hasn't worked yet to get me to the level I would like so I have to reassess my options. Obviously continuing rehab is one option and giving my hip more time to recover. Surgery is also an option but the chances of a successful outcome are not as I high as I would like which has made this my secondary option and my hope has been to avoid that. However this is something I may have to consider but let's hope not.
I choose this pic as the little kid inside me just wants to play tennis and Compete.. I genuinely miss it so much and i would give anything to be back out there. I didn't realise until these last few months just how much I love this game. Everytime I wake up from sleeping or napping i hope that it's better and it's quite demoralising when you get on the court it's not at the level you need it to be to compete at this level.
In the short term I'm going to be staying in Australia for the next couple of days to see if my hip settles down a bit and will decide by the weekend whether to stay out here or fly home to assess what I do next.
Sorry for the long post but I wanted to keep everyone in the loop and get this off my chest as it's really hurting inside.

Today I underwent successful right hip surgery at the St Vincent Hospital in Melbourne. I'd like to thank Dr John O’Donnell and all of the staff for looking after me. I look forward to returning to competitive tennis during the grass court season. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and support over the last few days. I'll comeback from this:thumbup:

Josh Murray has put this post on murraynators regarding the "fake" andy trying to scam folks out of money. He asked for it to be shared on all andy sites.
Morning all,
I have received a few reports again this morning that the imposter has been in touch again.
I would just to like to reiterate that this is NOT Andy's official account and Andy would never reach out in such a direct manner through Facebook as this account is trying to suggest.
The recently launched #MalariaMustDie campaign is also NOT related to this situation, and if you are contacted by the account to donate money it is completely unrelated and you should continue to ignore and block the message.
I would recommend to all of you that when giving to charity, to do so through the official charity websites and never directly transfer money to an un-verified bank account.
Please continue to ignore and delete any messages the account sends you, please don't contact it, or message it to try and get a response.

I’ve made significant progress in practice and matches over the last ten days, but after lengthy discussions with my team, we’ve decided that playing best of five set matches might be a bit too soon in the recovery process. We did everything we could to try to be ready in time.
I will start practising on the hard courts from tomorrow and continuing with my rehab and recovery and I’m looking forward to the US hardcourt season.
Thanks for all the messages of support and I’m excited to finally be back playing after so long out.

Andy has a future as a commentator, not too soon I hope, as he was amazing. He is knowledgeable about the game, the players and knows when to talk and when not. No waffle, just interesting and insightful comments. Many established commies and pundits could learn a lot from him.:thumbup::bravo:

Sadly I won’t be able to take my place in the draw in Toronto. I’d like to thank the tournament for a wildcard, I always love playing in Canada and look forward to returning next year.
I’ve played quite a few matches this week in Washington and I need to be smart with my rest and recovery as I come back from injury. My plan is to head to Cincinnati early next week. Appreciate all the support in Washington, it’s amazing to be back playing 👍

I think so. He may run out of steam but perhaps, having got this far, he and his team will have chance to really gauge his fitness/resilience/recovery and any outstanding issues. If he loses this round, so be it. But I'd never bet against Muzzah coming through when least expected and all the chips are down.

I hope everyone is doing well.
Just wanted to check in again with regard to the fake Andy messages some of you have been receiving (still). I'm fully aware there has been an increase in messages again over the last few months, but I just wanted to drop you a message on here to reassure you all that we're working to make sure the people doing it are stopped (again).
This doesn't sadly appear to be a lone wolf, and there have been multiple instances of this with a host of global sports stars, and unfortunately Andy is one they have taken a particular interest in.
I'd also just like to reiterate once again, that Andy would never under any circumstances reach out in such a direct manner on Facebook messenger or ever request for any type of financial payment from any of his fans under any circumstance. If you receive a message or friend request from any Andy Murray account (even if it appears to be verified), do not reply, ignore it and report it, as this is not him, and is definitely not how he operates on social media. Finally, if you are able to get the URL of the account, please do and send it to me, I can then follow the necessary protocols and get the account closed.
Thanks to anyone that has sent me an example over the last few months, I do see them and act on them, even if I don't always reply!

This week I visited Unicef HQ and their emergency hub in New York, it was so interesting to hear first-hand the scale of their work and the incredible level of emergency response required – over 300 humanitarian emergencies last year alone in over 100 countries.
One emergency is the Rohingya crisis. We are now one year on from the days and weeks that saw hundreds of thousands of Rohingya fleeing the increasing violence in Myanmar into Bangladesh.
There are almost a million Rohingya refugees now living in Bangladesh and half of those are children. UNICEF UK is doing everything it can to support these children and families. These children need humanitarian assistance, including treatment for diarrhoea, severe acute malnutrition, protection and access to education.

I just wanted to write a quick message to apologise to the British davis cup team and all the fans who are coming to watch in Glasgow and support on tv. I have genuinely loved competing in this Davis cup format over the course of my career and have had some of the most memorable and special moments (the lob) of my career competing for my country. With this possibly being my last chance to compete in Scotland as a professional I really wanted to be there with team and found this decision emotionally quite challenging. I had spoken to our captain, Leon, about possibly coming to just play doubles but having been recommended to take a couple of weeks off hitting to continue my reconditioning I didn't want to just show up not ready to perform to a high enough standard and ultimately let my teammates/country down.
If I don't get the chance to compete in Scotland again I just want to say thank you so much to all the fans who have come along to watch and support the team over the years. You have created some incredible atmospheres for me and the team to play in and I will always remember that. Having been born in Glasgow and growing up in Scotland I would never have imagined I would see such passionate fans packing out stadiums for tennis matches. Playing with my Big Bro in those stadiums has been very very special.

Certainly fantastic of Andy to make that statement when there no need but he obviously wanted to give fans an explanation. Must have been difficult decision and whilst may have been a bit gutting for all sure we can appreciate the reasoning.
