Two sets all in the Djokovic v Seppi match - looks like the upset won't be happening.
In other news, Fed is about to draw level to one set all against Goffin. :(
Goffin still hanging on in with a break point

Goffin beginning to run out of steam a little bit, but he's saved three BPs so far to try and stop Fed getting a double break in the third.

I'd say that Fed's form has stayed at around the same level - it's Goffin's that has dropped. This is Goffin's 7th match of the French Open, after all!

I think Goffin has relaxed a bit now, as he probably feels the match has gone away from him, but as a result he's playing much better again, and clearly enjoying himself. After winning a fantastic point against Fed, he raised his fist in the air, grinned at the response from the crowd and took a couple of bows :big grin:
He's serving to stay in the match now - but whatever happens, I think he will have won a lot of friends!

Kudos to Nole for getting through that in the end. Some effort.
Hats off to Seppi for taking him the distance though, valiant effort from the Italian.
Also Goffin too, to think he was a lucky loser as well after being beaten in the qualies! Certainly made the most of his opportunity!

The other court to Andy has Tipsy Almagro and Monaco Nadal.
Clay court fan's dream court methinks.
Oh, and three British Boys in action tomorrow and the older guy :)

He certainly played well on the indoor hard court at Braehead. He looks like he has every shot, maybe lacking the big serve that helps on grass.

lol, think Stan will be too occupied with business on court! Tsonga took the first two sets but Stan now seving to take it to a decider and indeed it is a 5TH SET. Good match but hoping Jo prevails! Del potro having taken the 1st set breaker, won only 1 game in the 2nd but has just taken the 3rd 6-3. Seems a bit doubtful that these matches can finish tonight. Stosur's match was moved and she went through in straights.

Maybe he's tweeting between changeovers... ;)
Gotta go here are a couple scenarios

Berdy and Tsonga must win for my TTT. I need Tipsy to fall to Almagro tomorrow first.
Watched Djokovic's match. Can't believe he came back to win. But he certainly doesn't look invincible anymore. Didn't see much of Fed's match but it'll be really interesting to see how Goffin progresses. The male version of Justine Henin peutetre?

Goffin played unbelievably well in the first two sets - certainly wasn't overawed by the occasion. He just ran out of steam after that but then he had come through qualifying and, I think, two out of three of his main draw matches went the distance. Seemingly, he's from the same academy as Justine - certainly one to watch!

Well I did not see Stan's match but if your opponent is leading 4-2 in the final set, I would imagine most players would accept coming back tomorrow and trying again, if your opponent has the momentum.
PS Just out of interest, how many players have not dropped a set yet? Just in case somebody already knows to save me having to look through the results. :)

He hasn't either. Also has the most wins on clay this year.
A great day of tennis yesterday and pouring down all day here so good excuse to watch all day! When Nole went down 2 sets I knew from the off that he would win in 5!!
Hope Jo beats Stan today - like them both but Jo probably my fave player behind Andy and Rafa .... and talking of Andy, hope he can do it today, I sense a murraycoaster peeps ....
Yes, David1610, there are just the three players who haven't dropped a set yet - Rafa, Ferrer and Almagro. All three are playing very well and it's a great shame that Almagro is in Rafa's quarter and Ferrer in Rafa's half. Would have liked Ferrer & Almagro to have been in Fed's and Nole's quarters. Also obviously it would be better for Andy not to have Ferrer in his quarter!
I agree, Caro, I like Jo as well and hope he wins when the match resumes.

I usually support Ferrer but today I'm rooting for Granollers!
I was going to ask why, then realised of course that it's for Andy's sake!
Granollers has been playing really well lately, in both singles and doubles. If he continues to do well he could overtake both Verdasco and Lopez in the rankings to become Spain's no.4.

Ferrer still has to get past Almagro though who nearly beat him the other week, and hasn't dropped a set either. Looks like continuing that run against Tipsarovic. In control 6-4 6-4 and up a break 3-2 in the 3rd.
Almagro also wins in straight sets. So Ferrer and Almagro continue to go through without losing a set - I wonder if Monaco will take a set off Rafa this afternoon?

Ferrrer's now in the quarters and faces the winner of Murray/Gasquet, Almagro will play Nadal if as expected he gets past Monaco. Tsonga takes it on his 2nd match point, well done! Looked a bit worrying when he was pegged back to 4 all.

There is always a lot of Spanish-Portuguese baggage, with a Portuguese inferiority complex, big neighbour - small neighbour problem. Perhaps summed up by the weather chart for Spain not bothering with Portugal.
Portuguese people are quick to take offence against Spaniards.

I can see Almagro troubling Nadal. He is in fine form it must be said. Nadal will have to play well to prevail.

It certainly was a startling that Monaco could only win 2 games. Didn't see any of the match but from accounts Rafa's level was very high and Monaco just had no answers. Almagro should do a bit better but if Rafa's in the same form doubt he'll be a real challenge. The three breadsticks were in 2008, 2 years ago it was 7-6,7-6,6-4.

So close! Tsonga have 2 MP and lose it.
I was completely torn between wanting Fed and Nole proven not invincible but on the other hand not wanting that side of the draw to become completely open through to the final, with Andy stuck in the other half........what an inner tussle I had. Think on balance I'm happier that Fed and Nole won.

That's why Nole is number 1 in the world and multiple slam winner. He isn't afraid to go for the juggler when he is in trouble. Really peppered that forehand and it saw him through in the end. If Andy is to win a slam he must take a leaf out of Nole's book. Lendl is onto it too, he is working Andy's FH like crazy. When Nole starting peppering that forehand and going for it more that's what catapulted him into the top 2 in the world and catapulted him to slam titles. The man has balls of steel, showed phenomonal bottle. Tsonga didn't do much wrong you can't blame him. It was just a monstrous effort from Nole. Still though a stunning RG for Tsonga too and hopefully will set him in good stead for Wimbly!

Fortunate to come through that Rafa, Almagro was arguably the better player in that set. I honestly don't how Rafa has gotten away with this water bottle carry on for so long. It must be infuriating for his opponents, I mean seriously spending a life time sorting them out again before the tie breaker must be so off putting for Almagro. His name is Nadal though so he gets away with it, if it was Murray you could be rest assured the pitch forks would be out in force. It really is sickening.

I know what you are saying RL but their reasoning is probably that Rafa is the heavy favourite to win his match whereby the Nole/Fed encounter is a tougher call? They're probably expecting the second match to be more of a classic.
