Another Nole-Andy Final ...
Nole leads their H2H (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=D643&oId=MC10)by 11-7 BUT Andy has won their only encounter on grass - at the Olympics 2012 Semi-Final in 2 sets at Wimbledon.
Last year Andy also beat Nole the to USO title in a 5 set thriller but Nole took the honours in January 2013 at the Australian Open. And it's Nole with 6 Slam titles to Andy's 1.
Despite the stats we'll all be wishing and hoping that this is Andy's time to win the Wimbledon title. It's been a wacky, weird Wimbledon this year so anything could happen!!!
:strawberry:
So, all we can do is cheer him on for the win on Sunday!
:GBflag:
And be here for one another if he's beaten by Novak.
:grouphug:
Nole's 'only' got 6 slams (4 Australians, 1 US, 1 Wimbledon).

Yes I was thinking the same but I'm sure he'll get a lot more support than he did last year.
Yeeessss, C'mon Andy!!!!! :yahoo::clap::jitterbug::cheer:
Just like last year, I'll miss the final as I have 3 more important things to attend to.
However...
This is Andy's year, and it's been great being along for the ride.

My daughter has a piano competition early afternoon so I hope my hubby can take her. Don't want to miss either the final or the mixed final
I'm going for an Andy win in 4. I just feel it and have felt it from the start, that is provided Andy got past JJ. Nole was feeling his hip a bit during his match so that could be a factor but for me the key thing will be that Andy has far more variety than DP has. I think that variety is what will win it for Andy.

Feels a bit different going into this with Andy having won the US last year.
Can you imagine if he still hadn't won a major. The weight might have been too much.
But I'm liking Andy's chances.
I've grown to really like djok down the years. We know he will bring his A game. Gonna be good.

Andy is a better grass court player than Djokovic. If Andy plays his best, he will win!!!
Andy will be ready, he isn't going to let this chance slip. He is in his best form and fresher and mentally stronger, he played one tough first set, 2 quick ones, a half hour shower and rest and a 4th set in about half hour compared to Novak. Many are going to think that Novak did it twice before but I really believe his body isn't going to stand up for more splits and slips.

I wouldn't like to call it. I felt like Novak hung in there better today against a better opponent. I was so impressed with his defending. Delpo was playing big.
Andy wasn't as tested. But I do believe the crowd will be on Andy's side much more than last year when they were clearly supported SmugFed. I'm hoping for some amazing pepes in the Royal Box too to help inspire Muzza. I would be soooooo happy if he won it :-)

Yeh I thought that the weight of expectation would have been just too much but even though novak has more slams it feels like an even playing field!
Where is everyone else watching it then? Doors locked curtains drawn don't disturb me type of afternoon? I know some cinemas played it last year!
I felt Novak was a bit shell-shocked by Delpo yesterday and needed all his competitive fighting spirit to come through....but we all know he has that in spades. So has Andy of course and this year - although most people like Novak, there won't be the Fed-mania we had last year and I believe (and hope) the crowd will be vocal in support of our boy. Wasn't James Cordon great yesterday btw??
Of course they know eachother's games so well, there will be few surprises. After all the shocks of the tournament it's a fitting final between the world's 1 & 2 players.

This is your time Andy, we all know how good Novak is, but we all know how good you are too. A couple of years ago Novak stepped up a gear to become the worlds best player, and I believe that you've got that in you too Andy, at least to be able to match Novak if not become better than him. World No.1 and multiple slams has to be the aim with your ability and I reckon it starts tomorrow.........watch out Nole, Andy's comin' for ya :boogie:
Andy said he'd have the memory of the Olympics match in his mind - 7-5, 7-5 to him. Just needs to play it on repeat and reconstruct the experience...........fingers crossed :cauldron:

Im pleased its a Nole v Andy match its what was predicted and how it should be. I thought Andy had a good shot last year but fed was determined to equal sampras with 7 wins,
This year it is different he is going in with experience, wisdom, gs and a couple of wins against Nole last year. Equal footing, its going to be a clasic.
Will be listening in my tractor. Everything crossed this is Andy's time!

Yes, so pleased Andy made the final. I hope Andy wins. I have not had chance to watch a lot of Wimbledon this year due to lots of work.
Clearly they both have the talent to win if the other does not bring their A (+?) game to court. Reading between the lines it seems that this year Andy's greatest asset has been his mental toughness to get results - to get it done.
I hope something clicks tomorrow and the crowd are with him early on - like the Olympics too much to hope for, perhaps, but shall we say more than halfway there compared to last year's Wimbledon final.
Tomorrow might be a big day for tennis in Britain, if the crowd decide early on to celebrate the luck we have in having a player like Andy. Enjoy it and whoop and clap and scream.
C'mon Andy! C'mon Wimbledon!
Here is a photo from my local deli (taken on my phone today - not great quality)
It's a cardboard image, in case anyone was wondering (not sure if the photo shows that clearly..)
I was in there for a while, and it basically ensured that Wimbledon/ Andy/ the final tomorrow came up in conversation most of the time there!
I am sure that the crowd will be with Andy from the beginning. Unlike last year, when the crowd was split probably 50/50 'cos Roger is so popular, Nole is not popular at all. I would expect that more than 90% of the crowd will be cheering for Andy.

well thank goodness for that , as it should be ... hope your right
I'd say that Linda is bang on the money here.
In spite of being numero uno, Nole just doesn't have that worldwide popularity that Rafa or Roger have. So the crowd tomorrow won't (shouldn't?) have divided loyalties.
Good luck in the final Andy. This is your time so do it for you and GB.

Agree with those who say the crowd will be VERY pro Andy from the start in this match. Delpo had more support than Nole and I don't think Nole ever gets a lot of support unless he plays at home.
I should be feeling really nervous for Andy but I really don't, I am so convinced he will win this. I firmly believe Andy would have beaten Roger last year had it not rained and with the sun due all day tomorrow there's no chance for a repeat of that.

It's VERY unfair. No end of players are swearing and ranting on court yet no-one bats and eyelid because most people can't understand it whereas most of the world knows the English swear words so when Andy or any other English speaker is in a mood then everyone can pick up on it. I think Andy should learn a few words in other languages to say when he feels the need. At least we wouldn't have to endure Castle and his simpering apologies.
I know German fairly well and I can tell you Haas says far worse than Andy ever has.

Well, given Djoker some food for thought but a Djoker hold.
get him moving, I feel Andy is better physically so need to get Djoker going from side to side.
Barry Flatman @Barry_FlatmanST 3m
Strange reaction from Murray after breaking. Seemed to relax & allowed Djoko to break straight back. Complaining about right shoe
Mandiemoo
07-07-2013, 13:46
It's 2.45 & we have only had 5 games!
Brad Gilbert @bgtennisnation 31s
Interesting that Muzzard is standing much further back to return Djokers 1st serv then he did for Jerzy Boy ?
Mandiemoo
07-07-2013, 13:49
Fab-u-lous darling! A nerveless love service game!
Much better hold Andy!
Now break Djoko again.
Darren Cahill @darren_cahill 3m
Murray's 1st serve % @Wimbledon this year has been 65%. His average vs Djokovic in their 18 H2H matches is 55%. #ESPNWimbledon
