She broke. Laura into final of Guangzhou Open!
Crumbs - what happened - went to make a coffee and it was all over! WELL DONE LAURA.
I know great things have been anticipated from Heather but I've felt she wasn't really coming along quickly enough to have the mark of a top top player. The really great always seem to rocket up from nowhere at an early age. So let's hope this is what Laura is going to do.

Here's hoping for a win tomorrow to really crack the British record books open.
But this is an achievement on it's own ...
... because the last British girl to reach a WTA final was Jo Durie in 1990 (22 years ago!)

Fantastic result for Laura and great achievement for being the first British woman into a WTA final for 22 years! That silver medal seems to have given Laura oodles of confidence and self-belief, wonderful to see!

Awesome! BTW, Laura has played this girl Su-Wei Hsieh before, and lost, though it was last year in Osaka and looked to be a competitive scoreline (7-6[4] 6-4).
So what will this do to her ranking from next week??!
Sallydaisy
21-09-2012, 13:29
She'll reach the 60's for deffo and possible #57/58 (depends on other players).
If she won the title she'd be around the #54 mark.
Needs another win or two this year to make it into the top 50 rankings.
Reaching the Semi here meant she'd defended her autumn points from last year so as of this win any points she gains are a bonus (until next year of course!).

Well done Laura. You could argue there were some wobbles with serving sets and matches out but if she fixes that with a bit more coaching and experience it is mind-boggling that she could have beaten somebody like Cirstea 6-1 6-1 in a semi final WTA main tour event, compared to where she was at the start of the year.
Good luck in the final!
PS Wonder if Tokyo is praying for a late withdrawal so they could offer Laura a WC into the main draw!

It is very important to stay positive about Heather and be cautious about comparisons with Laura IMHO, in order for Laura's rise to inspire Heather and not do the opposite.
We were worried about the effects of the tough coach Laura employed. The effects are already there to be seen it would appear. I do not know how highly Heather's current coach rates compared to Laura's but I hope at some stage Heather can appoint a top, top coach and it will be interesting to see the effect on Heather.
Having seen a lot of young WTA players "crash and burn" at the top of the rankings in the last few years, I hope that Laura and her family and support staff are laying the foundations for a long stay at the top, irrespective of the coach of the time....
It does seem to be the case that teenagers are looked after more carefully nowadays and the WTA 100, as we have mentioned before, is not littered with them.
Let's just be thankful GBR has two of them and let them get on with progressing at their own natural rhythm.
Yes - I really hope that Laura and Heather develop a friendly rivalry that encourages them both and spurs them both on to great things. There is room in the top 10 for them both!!
Was just listening to some of the Andy stuff after his USO win and I think he said he went into the top 60 (or it may have been 50) at 18......so IMHO this is what's required of top players if they're to live up to promise. It would be great if both Heather and Laura could make it to the elite level but I'd be happy providing at least one of them can.
Well done Laura. :yahoo:

Fantastic news - well done Laura.
Playing golf early so will miss this. GOOOOOOOO LAURA!!!!!!!!!!!
Who??????????
Hsieh Su-wei is the best player that Taiwan has had for quite some time. She's been around a wee while - since about 2001.
She is quite an accomplished doubles player. I've seen her play a few times. She reached the semi finals of the US Open this year with Annabel Medina Garrigues (knocked out by Hradecka and Hlavackova) - but usually partners Peng Shuai - they reached the semis of the French Open in 2009.
This year has been her breakthrough year in the singles though. She won her first WTA tour title earlier in the year.
She's quite a canny player, technically quite solid. Tomorrow it will be the big hitter versus the counter-puncher.
Given that Laura has beaten both Jie Jheng and Shuai Peng over the last few days - similarish players to Hsieh - should give her some confidence going into the final. In fact, Laura has beaten China's no.1, 2 and 3 players in the last few weeks!!
If Laura plays well, then she has a good chance. Fingers crossed.
Oh, and here's a nice wee stat.

convincing for Laura today in the end and lets hope she is on her A game to overcome Hsieh Su-wei and take the title! However obviously can't take anything for granted, Laura said her style caused her problems in their previous encounter. Mind you, Laura should certainly be more confident now.

Robson is wary of the challenge that lies ahead.
"She plays quite differently from most of the players and I need to be ready for this. I played her once before last year in Japan and I lost and all through the match I could never tell what shot she was going to hit next," Robson added."

Yeah, Hsieh is one crafty player. The final could certainly be a tough match for Laura.
Laura can however draw from her previous experience of playing her. She is also quicker around the court than she was a year ago, which is a big help for her in this match, I think.
I'd say that, win or lose, Laura's had a great tournament. Hoping she isn't feeling the weight of expectation and can at least do herself justice tomorrow.
Watched her match v Cirstea and Laura played really, really well.
Hsieh is very tricky and probably the favorite going into the final.
Good luck, Laura! You can do it!

22-09-2012, 08:02
Well, at least she held serve and it was only the one break against her.
But Hsieh is serving this out.
Goes to 40-0 and then a DF for *40-15.
Hsieh takes the first set 6'3.
Laura's serve is not so good today; 48% first serves in but yesterday it was 59%.
She had her coach on at the end of the 1st set and didn't look too happy.
She just got to Ad but then served another double fault so back to decue.
Ad again now though for a hold in the first set.

Laura breaks! Serving at *2-0 in the 2nd. Needs to hold.
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 08:22
Su-Wie broke back and held so it's back on serve at 2-2 with Laura needing to hold.
EDIT: Unfortunately the Taiwan player has broken again.
Laura appears to be under par today; more unforced errors in this match than she has had in all her other matches this week. Still hitting some great passing shots though and her return game is still giving Hsieh a bit of bother.
Su-Wie is playing the better tennis out there today; giving Laura no rhythm, finding the regularly to hit winners away and playing a craftier and steadier game.
Su-Wie serving at *3-2 in the 2nd set with the break of serve.
The commentator is dire; not exactly anti-Laura but he's so gloomy about her play out there as if it's her first ever match on a tennis court not an achievement like reaching her first final.
:grrr:
She held for 4-3 in the second - she really needs to break here. C'mon Laura!
5-3 now - hold now Laura to make her serve it out.
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 08:43
Laura serving to stay in the match at *3-5.
Laura saved 5 match points at 3-5 in the second set. Reminiscent of her recent match against Sam Stosur at the US Open.
Laura played a gritty game to hold serve - saving 4 match points and forcing Hsieh to serve it out. Let's have a break here Laura!!
Was it 5 match points super8? I lost count!
Just started watching in this last game,
I've never seen anyone get tennis balls back like this girl, who is she?!!
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:00
Can she turn this around???
Hsieh to serve for the title at *5-4.
*0-15
*15-15
*30-15
*30-30 great dropshot from Laura
*30-40 break back point for Laura!!!
*40-40 good serve from Su
*40-Ad to Laura with a great return
AND SHE BREAKS FOR 5-5!!!!!
Back on serve - well played Laura - now hold!!!!!
Was it 5 match points super8? I lost count!
Um - I think it was 5 - but certainly a fair few!!
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:04
Was it 5 match points super8? I lost count!
Yes, it was 5 that Laura saved.
She's struggling on serve again ... *0-30 to 30-30 with a volley save.
Just started watching in this last game,
I've never seen anyone get tennis balls back like this girl, who is she?!!
Post 528 on this thread give a bit of background about her.
also meant to mention - Hsieh has won about 8 WTA tour doubles titles. Only 1 other Taiwanese WTA player has won a WTA singles title apart from her - this was back in about 1996 - a certain Wang Shi-ting.
6-5 now in second set.
Well held Laura - now break again!
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:05
Laura leads 6'5 in the 2nd set - she's just won 3 games on the trot and we're at least into a tie-break for the 2nd set.
C'mon Laura!!! Let's have another break to win it and go to 3!
david1610
22-09-2012, 09:09
Yes! One more set please Laura!

22-09-2012, 09:09

C'mon Laura - just 6 games to go for the trophy!!!

Some fight back from Laura and hopefully she has the momentum, come on! For much of the match even if she did have early breaks she wasn't quite firing though Hsieh really was tricky and has some amazing defence.
......... and the match is suspended because of the heat. Does anyone know if that's just a 10 minute break?
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:13
......... and the match is suspended because of the heat. Does anyone know if that's jsut a 10 minuted break? The other day they had 15 minutes but I can't remember which match. I think they have a set policy based on humidity and temperature combinations to decide whether the heat break kicks in.
Not sure this will help Laura tbh.
I was wondering what had happened, no commentary on this stream i'm watching.
This could completely deflate Laura's momentum, but if Su-Wei's struggling physically, it might not matter so much.
Go Laura!
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:19
From Murraycoasters to Robbocoasters ... who'd be a tennis fan???
;)
That was a tremendous fightback from Laura who'd defended 5 championship points at 3-5 down in the 2nd set and then won 4 games on the trot to take the set. Hsieh was making a lot more errors at the end but Laura seemed to have found her mojo and deserved to come through to level the match at 1 set all.
Both girls have had time to talk to their coaches.
Wonder what this long break will do ... it could interfere with the momentum that Laura had found.
It certainly gives Hsieh time to regroup and rethink strategy for the 3rd set.
All still to play for!
Go Laura!!!
:swingin:
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:26
Laura opens the batting in the 3rd set; taken to deuce but she holds for 1-0.
I thought that Hsieh was nervous (understandably) in the latter part of that set - got a bit tight.
Also wasn't sure if she was a little fatigued. I suspect that the heat break was timely for her.
Hopefully Laura can draw further inspiration from that wonderful fightback in the second set though.
I'm sorry but I really want to tempt fate on this match. I think Su-Wei's finished.
JAMES4578
22-09-2012, 09:46
Difficult for Hsieh mentally but we can't count her out yet as she's just held for 1-3 and Laura's previous service game was tight. Hopefully Robson will stay strong though.
JAMES4578
22-09-2012, 09:50

Well we've all been guilty at some point, pity Laura loses the break but hopefully she'll still find her way to the finishing line.

Su serving at *2-3 in the 3rd set having broken Laura back so it's on serve again.
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:53
3-3 (and from Laura being 3-0 up!)
Both struggling a bit but who will survive; conditions must be awful.
Laura serving and *0-15
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 09:58
Hsieh seems to have found a 2nd wind in this set (as she did in the other 2) and is going for a break here.
*0-15
*15-15
*15-30
*30-30 and a timely Ace from Laura, needs 2 more good serves
*40-30
*40-40
*40-Ad and break point to Hsieh
*40-40
*40-Ad and break point to Hsieh again after a great cross-court winner
And Hsieh breaks .....
Extraordinary match this,
Laura looks as tired now, she's not really moving the ball around the court as she'd like. Most of the shots are going straight back to Hsieh and she's just pushing it around now, left and right, using Laura's pace.
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 10:03
Laura serving to stay in the match at *3-5 down.
Can she repeat the 2nd set heroics?
C'mon Laura!!!
:swingin:
JAMES4578

Not going to plan and as Laura faltered a bit Hsieh found some fire again. Now Robson must hold to stay in this at 3-5.
Sallydaisy
22-09-2012, 10:11
Hsieh to serve for it at *5-4 in the 3rd set.
Well held Laura who looks very tired right now.
*15-0
*15-15
*30-15
*30-30
*40-30 and championship point no 6 for Hsieh
And she wins.

So sad for Laura who played her heart out when looking down and out.
2nd title of the year for Su-Wei and perhaps that experience helped her win today.
There will be another time for Laura - just 18 and she's got so much more to come.
Great steel from Laura at points today, can't help but feel she threw that match away though.
That was Su-Wei's second this year.
What a shame for Laura..........but heck!......how that girl has improved her play!!

GSM Hsieh - 6-4 in the final set.
Quite a contest!
Laura played so well to get herself back into contention in this match. She played a tricky opponent and the progress that she has made against her compared with their last match is hugely encouraging.
Huge credit also to Hsieh for hauling herself back into this at 0-3 down in the final set.
david1610
22-09-2012, 10:16
The experience of the sf earlier in the year and the uso helped to get to the final today. Today will help the next final. Pity but all good experience. Moving forward!
Laura did really well and will learn a lot from this - her first WTa final. Hsieh has so much more experience and I'm sure that's what told in the end.

Whilst it's gutting Laura lost after seemingly having the momentum at the end of the 2nd and early stages of the 3rd sure the week has been very positive with some great wins! The final will be a usefull learning curve and sure much more to come.

Yep, I think experience (1 singles title this year and 8 doubles titles career) stood her in good stead (and pehaps better tolerance of the humidity having been born in the region?). The performance from both was patchy; they seemed to go on a run of games each and then dipped.
I was alarmed to see so many really nasty anti-Laura . comments next to the livestream. Mona Barthel - the German player was particularly vitriolic in her condemnation of LauraI turn those off ... not worth the aggro and it's mostly trolls on there so try not to fret about it. Let's face it there are always going to be supporters and detractors of any player - but it's a shame if a fellow player was one of the detractors (it was probably someone else tbh).
You just know if if Robson faces Barthel that we'll be willing our lass to win!

Just watched it on tennistv catch up. Disappointed coz she had the break in the third set. Too many doubles and second serves. But great to see all the same. Her opp. has a funky game to say the least.
Just come home and found out the result. Shame but it sounds like it was a gutsy performance and as everyone has said, she's only 18. Onwards and upwards - the heat must have been dreadful.

aww thats too bad she lost , but hey , great she made the final !!!!!
She has a great future ahead of her I think , just needs to mature a bit and be more consistent.
Out visiting all day - but the Beeb were very efficient so I found out the result earlier.
So sorry that Laura lost, but it looks as though it was a good contest - when I've got time I'll read through the thread.
From what I've been able to see, Laura has come on leaps and bounds in the last few months. She's had a great week here and shown that she can compete with these top players. I hope she can take the positives and not be too disappointed - maybe she can take heart from the way Andy bounced back after the Wimbledon final. Still lots to work on, but so very encouraging to see her playing so well.

Laura took the first set 6'4 and was leading 5'4 in the 2nd.
Date-Krumm serving to stay in the match was at *0-30.
And then the Beijing livescore board froze!!!
Laura won!!!
Into R2 having beat Kimiko Date-Krumm 6'4, 6'4.
She came back from breaks down in both sets.
Stats people on twitter estimate that she'll reach a career high of around #54 next week.
Laura will play Dominguez Lino in the second round. Dominguez Lino beat Vinci the 15th seed.

Fantastic from Laura again - she's really on a roll at the moment! Long may it continue!

07.04: Laura's match is up on livescore.
She's 3-2 on serve with Lourdes Dominguez-Lino serving next.
07.26: Well it was all going nicely with serve to 5-5 but LDL has just broken Laura
and is serving for the first set at *6'5.
07.30: LDL took the first set 7'5.
Laura did manage to go 30-0* on the Spaniards serve but not break back.
All to do at a set down.

On one level it is great, but she will have to get used to not having the "mixed blessing" of qualifiers, the positive aspect of which of course being she could "warm up" for the tourney against players who became easier and easier to beat as her ranking has risen. She will have to be ready to play a top player from the first point. But at the same time she should be ready for that! Go Laura!

Laura has won the WTA 'Newcomer of the Year' award - and runner-up was Heather Watson!
What a great honour for our British girls!
Hope they go on a rankings rampage next year ........
Here's a link (http://www.wtatennis.com/news/20121127/wta-player-awards-newcomer-of-the-year_2256076_2992615) to the article and a couple of extracts.
Since winning the Wimbledon (http://www.wtatennis.com/page/Tournaments/Info/0,,12781%7E839,00.html) junior title as a 14-year-old in 2008, she had been touted as one of the next big things in the pros - and in the second half of 2012 she came through on that promise in a big way with a string of big results, most notably a run to the second week of the US Open (http://www.wtatennis.com/page/Tournaments/Info/0,,12781%7E840,00.html).
And with that, Laura Robson (http://www.wtatennis.com/player/laura-robson_2257889_15680) is the WTA's Newcomer Of The Year.
Fantastic news - well done to both girls!
Great stuff. Am beginning to feel for Heather though - will she be in Laura's shadow long term?

Laura broken in the first game unfortunately. Laura dressed normally, Niculescu as if she is cold - short trousers under the tennis jacket.
Her opponent looks very pumped. C'mon Laura!
Deuce. Laura is really whacking the ball. Seems to be moving well. Difficult to tell with these "web cam-like" feeds.
0-2 Some shots going the wrong side of the lines. Just needs to hold here.
C'mon Laura.
1-2 Wait til we get a look at her with a normal camera. This seems absolutely ruthless. Now if she can just get some chances on her opponent's serve.
1-3 Laura perhaps pushing too hard. Win or lose this is going to be very good for Laura. Her opponent seems to have very good defensive skills.
eek. DF and a break point down 30-40
Long again 1-4 two breaks down.
Not sure if it is the camera angle, but Laura is like somebody who has just got a powerful new car and is not quite sure of how to handle the brakes and the steering. Her game seems very powerful but she seems to be going for it nearly every shot, rather than waiting for the right ball. Oh well, has to use this set as experience. There are about fifty people watching (seating just on one of the four sides of the court!)
1-5 Her opponent is ranked 58 but was ranked 28 twelve months ago.
2-5 Easy service hold for Laura. Now go out and swing as there is nothing to lose and get some freer practice in! C'mon Laura!
40-15 Two set points... one save... ace... first set to Niculescu 6-2.
david1610
01-01-2013, 06:11
Second set. Laura to serve first.
Goes to 40-0 then hits what looks like a winner which is called out! UE next point. 40-30. Focus please! Yes. Good hold. 1-0
The main court must be very close and is belting out Gangham style.. use it vÃ*deo maker...
0-15 , 0-30. 15-30, 30-30, 40-30 nice dropper.... 1-1 Pity, that was the first time Laura was two points ahead on her opponent's serve. Regroup. Focus. C'mon Laura!
Laura holds to 15. 2-1
Gosh her opponent's defence is very solid. Laura is having to work hard to break her down.
BTW. career matches so far: 166 v 517 and to some extent that is the main difference between them. You can see her opponent's experience, keeping the ball in play, mixing it up against Laura's power. Give Laura another season and experience.....
30-40 Laura's first break point. C'mon Laura! Laura goes for broke on a return... out... perhaps waiting a bit... does the same and again out.... AD Niculescu. Deuce again after first DF . AD. Laura long again 2-2
Big game this. Laura had a chance and after her coach spoke to her at the end of the first set, four pretty even games. Keep going. C'mon Laura!
0-15 Laura perhaps deceived by the spin on the ball. 15-15 30-15 solid rallies.40-15 UE by opponent. Another UE (bit lucky as Laura was out of position) 3-2 Match points 43, 41 so pretty close in that respect. C'mon Laura. This time!!!
3-3 Hold to love with Laura mistiming the returns. No matter. All about holding at the moment.
Strange call against her 0-15, 0-30 bit wild and not balanced. Must focus here. C'mon Laura. Gets a good call herself 15-30, hits into the net 15-40. 30-40 stinging forehand down the line. Very long rally. Laura ends up hitting into the net. 3-4 Oh well. Just a couple more controlled points per game and she can still do this.
Lost stream... 40-15 Now 5-3 Laura serving to stay in the match. C'mon Laura!
0-15, 15-15, 15-30 stream frozen on several links... 15-40 two match points. C'mon Laura!
Laura lost 2-6 3-6 Two breaks in each set. 45 v. 59 points.
FWIW the winner today is 25 and the loser 18. I think Laura needs a lot more match play experience against those who either are or have been in the top thirty, to match court craft with her power.
And first impressions are we should not be hoping she shoots up to the top ten just like that. Better to learn that court craft and moderately progress for a season or two and get that experience. Still 18 years old. Still learning!

She has drawn Sloane Stephens! That is a tough one. Just feel Sloane will be able to deal with Laura's power and she is much more consistent and to stand a chance, Laura will have to cut down on the unforced errors.. No, the main danger for Laura this year may well be possible frustration if she does not live up to everybody's expectations as quickly as people may want. She will have a number of problems, including being "sussed out" - after the US Open run the top players will see her coming and will adjust.
Hope she gets lots of chances to work with Jez Green or similar as the court movement issues greatly improved.
Enjoy the year - hopefully get good draws in major tournaments and learn the lessons that come your way!

This is from the Chris Evert and D. Cahill AO preview interview mentioned on the main press thread
Q. Could you say the same thing about Laura Robson?
DARREN CAHILL: Absolutely. I think she’s a half a step behind Sloane as far as the development. She’s certainly got a lot of weapons. Laura has improved her movement around the court, which is going to be a big factor with her to deal with the strength of shots, a lot of the top ladies, what they play with in today’s game.
There’s no question Laura has the talent. I don’t think I’ve seen anybody in the ladies’ game that varies the spin the way she can do it. The fact she is a lefty is a slight advantage going forward. She also understands the game extremely well. She certainly has the weapons. But there’s the court speed and the ability to play a little defensive tennis at times that is going to be important for her to evolve and improve. But there’s no question there can be a rivalry there.

I stayed up to watch and was going to give some feedback but the site was down (well at my computer at any rate).
Laura basically had too much power for Melanie Oudin. She broke immediately and after a few deuces, consolidated the break and never really looked back.
She never really allowed Oudin into the match. She hit a lot of aces (about 11 I think). There was one moment in the second set were she was foot faulted on second serve and then served another double to follow - when the "double faults acoming" warning signs were flashing but she held steady, although that was the only game she got broken (if my memory serves me well).
Oudin's real success was either hitting drop shots or those shots into the mid-court where Laura had to run to get them, as well as sometimes hitting the ball from side to side with Laura not yet having the movement to get to them. Laura also tends to hit certain shots before she is settled - or, put another way, she is not very good at hitting shots on the move.
But those points aside, it was quite brutal once Laura had got her range - Oudin did not vary her serve placing enough and Laura absolutely murdered the second serves.
Although some of the games were tight, in general it was a mismatch on the day in terms of tennis. Unless Laura had lost her nerve on second serves or lost her range, there was only going to be one winner after watching the first two games.
And the A-N-D-Y boys were in attendance and could be heard in full voice, and they seemed to be giving, erm, a different kind of love to Laura than they do to Andy. Can't possibly think why :)
I liked Mel few years ago, after her run at USO 2009. I bet you all remember.
right now she has some serious lack of confidence
Glad Laura won and wish her all the best against Kvitova.. She needs to show her super game.

Laura's just lost the first set to Kvitova 2-6

C;mon Laura! She went 40-0 up with some great serves but then a couple of 2nd serves have been pounced on by Kvits who has now levlled back to deuce.

Kvitova is also all over the place; serving at 1-1 but it went *0-15, 0-30, 15-30, 30-30.
The crowd are fed up with watching; half of them have left.
Break point chance for Laura again - c'mon take it.
EDIT - Ace from PK out wide and unreturnable.
Laura is returning very very well with some tough shots which is forcing errors from PK who isn't reading them.
Break point chance again for Laura.

Broken! Now just hold serve. C'mon Laura!
This is definitely winnable for Laura if only she can hold her game together.

Laura holds (just) for 4-1.
Honestly, both of them look as though they'd rather be on another planet instead of playing tennis right now. Kvitova looks totally fed up and Laura seems down too. I don't know if it's the heat (mid30's) or the lateness of the hour (22.40 in Melbourne) but the winner will be the one who can find inspiration out of lethargy here.

C'mon Laura!
Good - an unreturnable
30-40
Deuce.
:phew:
Not sure how she managed that tbh, PK hit the shot out though.

Argh! Having got back to deuce she serve 2 DF's to hand Kvits a break back.
She's still ahead 5-2 in the 2nd set though so is only one hold away from taking the set.
Can she hold though? And can Kvits now about to serve to stay in it?

Love hold for Kvitova. Laura to serve for the set at 5-3 with new balls.

OK Laura. Double breaks are for this type of stituation so no problems. Just serve it out. C'mon Laura!

Laura holds and takes the 2nd set 6'3, Kvitova took the first 6'2.

For those not watching the girls are getting an extended break after the 2nd set.
I'm not sure if it's the full 10mins 'cos the heat rule for that kicks in when it's +40degrees.
But it seems as though they've got a bit of leeway here.
Kvitova has changed her clothes and brought the dirties back on court.
;)

Kvitova probably did an Andy at the US Open before the final set against Nole and gave herself a talking too getting her focussed for the third set!

Kvitova still not settled down. 15-15 and she serves an Ace followed by a DF for 30 all.
Goes ahead *40-30 but then sees a 2nd serve pummelled by Laura for deuce.
Ad to Kvits after a decent serve, back to deuce after Laura gets another lax 2nd serve.
Kvits holds for 1-0 in the 3rd set.

Laura's ball toss is really annoying me

I think Laura must hold her serve in this game and not let Kvits get ahead and gain confidence.
*0-40 and 3 break points for PK.
Kvitova suddenly decided to move around the court more and is forcing errors from Laura.
*15-40
*30-40 Laura picking it up in defence - still has a lot to do to hold.

Kvitova breaks for a 2-0 lead in the 2nd set.
There was a ball that looked long in the final point but Laura didn't stop play to challenge.
Break back time?
