I think Heather has come in for undeserved 'criticism' from, for example, the BBC. They reported that for 8 years in a row, she's lost in the 1st round. True, but they didn't say how well she had done to win 3 matches in qualifying, or whether her losses in previous years had been against higher ranked players, as many were. Just 'she lost again'. Typical of BBC really, they can't have a go at Mourinho cos he won't talk to them so lets pick on the British tennis players, especially as they don't show much Tennis on BBC. If they did, you can bet the players would hailed as 'history makers', or 'International Superstars', as many of the Euro Athletes were.
I agree about Heather. She is one who maximises her talent. It always gives me a warm glow that she has the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles trophy to console her.
Heather won her 1st round match today in Quebec. She defeated Niculescu 7-5 6-3. Good win.:clap:
And meanwhile tennis continues! Delighted to see Heather won her second round match in Quebec.:clap:

Certainly good news-well done Heather ! , Hopefully gives Heather some confidence as has been a struggle in singles most of the time lately. Wonder if that Serena Williams Wimbledon match ended up being a poisoned chalice, though maybe not the decisive factor. Think it's up to her though if she does not want to concentrate just on doubles.

Heather played a really good match, serving well, backhand and forehand holding up, thinking well. Wang DIDNT play well, and played like she didn't want to be there. But take nothing away from H, it was her performance that forced Wang into the negative place. At the end the interviewer asked Heather for a few words for the crowd. She was also asked to hit a few autographed balls into the stands. She could have handed them out individually and still had enough left over for a second serve. She managed to say, 'I hope there are more people here tomorrow for some great tennis' !
