2 good performances, which hopefully will give the team confidence to do well domestically this year. The amount of chances Liverpool created we would have been lucky to get anything more over the 2 legs.

Well we still struggle to put the ball in the net. Reoccurring problem for best part of 18 months now. Still though did enough to advance. Great effort from Hearts, that was a strong side we out tonight as well.

Hardly thrashed, Arsenal were fortunate. Mertesacker tucking on Suarez's shirt was a stonewall penalty, rest assured if that was at Old Trafford Webb would have pointed to the spot.

What can you do? Played well in part just same old story lacking an end product.

Early days yet. BR needs time, things don't happen overnight in football unless you are backed by the Sheikh or Oil money. Sadly the gap between the City, Chelsea and the likes of Liverpool even UTD seems to widening. Football is changing.

Wretched tactics in a must win game. These home games we need to win in a tough group. Leaving likes of Forrest, Rhodes on the bench and starting a has been in Kenny Miller as the lone striker, shocking. Levein Out!

Hillsborough files released to the families today.

Steven Halliwell ‏@Ste_Halliwell11
PM has had report - Suggestions are that any attempt at a "statement of regret" are out of the window and a full apology will be issued.

THE ANFIELD WRAP ‏@TheAnfieldWrap
Ed Miliband wearing a 'Justice' badge in parliament today
http://t.co/z7X6gGyf

Hugh O'Connell ‏@oconnellhugh
. @bbcnickrobinson reporting that PM WILL apologise over Hillsborough #JFT96 #HIP

Check this out :

Kitchen Table ‏@kitchentableLFC
For anyone that hasn't seen them before, this is what SYP did to their own officers statements http://t.co/QBbCRjG7

4m Andy Heaton ‏@Andrew_Heaton
From HIP - Blood taken from survivors in hospital without consent

3m Andy Heaton ‏@Andrew_Heaton
From HIP - If alcohol levels found to be 0%, name of survivor was then cross checked against national criminal database

Andy Heaton ‏@Andrew_Heaton
Blood also taken from deceased without consent of families

Tony Evans ‏@TonyEvansTimes
First news trickling out and it's ugly. Blood taken from bodies to test for alcohol. If none, they checked for criminal records.

Tony Evans ‏@TonyEvansTimes
SYP were criminalising victims before the bodies were even cold

Tony Evans ‏@TonyEvansTimes
And it looks like HIP will confirm what we knew: more could have been saved. We knew it, but it still hurts to hear it

Tony Evans ‏@TonyEvansTimes
I'd expect to hear what we already knew. Irving Patnick, the MP, was used by police to leak lies to MacKenzie.

THE ANFIELD WRAP ‏@TheAnfieldWrap
The Police federation brief was to lay blame at drunk, ticketless fans.

2m Tony Evans ‏@TonyEvansTimes
The HIP will be quite clear. This was a deliberate strategy of lying. There was no basis of truth

Jim Boardman ‏@JimBoardman
FFS. The coroner questioned the need for any post mortems as all died of same thing. This would have been illegal. #HIPTony Evans

‏@TonyEvansTimes
The coroner questioned the need for inquests! That's illegal

DaveArneRiise
12-09-2012, 11:46
It's all coming out

THE ANFIELD WRAP ‏@TheAnfieldWrap

RT @TheFarm2012 Police changed or deleted 116 of 164 statements by officers to shift blame on to the fans in an orchestrated cover up!

Gareth Roberts ‏@robbohuyton
Fans left to die, children tested for alcohol and dead checked for criminal records. And people question why families fought for this day?

"41 could have survived after the 3:15pm cut off time."

DaveArneRiise
12-09-2012, 11:51
PM David Cameron has just done a speech in House of Commons.

Summary:

Re: a potential cover-up - Cameron: "the families were right".

Cameron: "Attempts by police to change the record of events"

David Cameron on Hillsborough: 164 police statements "significantly amended". Coroner blood alcohol tests on dead fans including children

Cameron: 28 people could have been saved over-ruling original coroner's report.

Cameron: "Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster. "

Cameron: "No evidence that anyone stole from the dead or dying, were violent, drunken or ticketless"

Cameron: "On behalf of the government and indeed our country I am profoundly sorry."

...........

MP Andy Burnham talking:

55s Jim Boardman ‏@JimBoardman
Burnham: "Devastating truths made worse not better by the passage of time."

35s Jim Boardman ‏@JimBoardman
Burnham: 3.15 cut off with no legal moral or medical justification.

Jim Boardman ‏@JimBoardman
Burnham: A monumental cover-up. Sickening campaign of vilification.

Fighting back tears, Wirral Labour MP, Alison McGovern says: "There are no words in the English language that are good enough to describe the dignity, grace and courage of the families" of the disaster... She adds that the police and the legal system failed them, but the families "never failed".

DaveArneRiise
12-09-2012, 13:37
Sickening it took 23 years for the truth to come out, god knows the pain, agony the families suffered during that passage of time.

Monumental day this for the families. Finally justice for the 96.

Disgrace that they could do all this to innocent people. I hope after all this those responsible for the whole cover up and spreading of lies get their justdeserts in the courts, and that **** Mckenzie rots in hell!

Unsuprised that people in power protect their own backs rather than face the truth. Has happened in every human society since time began. Lets hope this is a sign that society will no longer stand for it.

DaveArneRiise
12-09-2012, 20:47
Mckenzie apology statement :

Today I offer my profuse apologies to the people of Liverpool for that headline. I too was totally misled. Twenty three ago I was handed a piece of copy from a reputable news agency in Sheffield in which a senior police officer and a senior local MP were making serious allegations against fans in the stadium. I had absolutely no reason to believe that these authority figures would lie and deceive over such a disaster.

As the Prime Minister has made clear these allegations were wholly untrue and were part of a concerted plot by police officers to discredit the supporters thereby shifting the blame for the tragedy from themselves. It has taken more than two decades, 400,000 documents and a two-year inquiry to discover to my horror that it would have been far more accurate had I written the headline The Lies rather than The Truth. I published in good faith and I am sorry that it was so wrong

Nothing about his part in it though just shifting blame "I was mis lead" Yea that old chestnut. Would have been better off saying nothing the scum bag.

Penalty was soft, but they were denied a strong appeal earlier. No idea why Fletcher's goal disallowed. Bale world class - none of the Scots come close.

Lets face it damage was done to this qualification campaign long before the match last night.

I'd like to see Kenny Dalglish in charge of the national team. Players would do their utmost to play under him IMO.

Thought Levein did a good job at both Hearts and United with the resources he had, but he certainly doesn't seem to be getting the best out of the squad (limited though it may be).

Hawkeye

He'll never be forgiven for 6-4-0. Too limited tactically. We don't have good enough players to get away with trying to keep a one goal lead.

Charlie Nicholas suggested on SSN that Joe Jordan might be worth a go. Has never done great as a club manager but gets a lot of the credit for how 'Arry's teams play. More of a coach is probably what we're needing right now (tactic-wise anyway)

Needs to be done, and should be possible with one of the terrible twins not even invited to the party nowadays. Without details I can't understand why anyone other than Celtic would vote against the change.

My interpretation may be wrong, but I would imagine the debt that UBIG took on is secured which would allow Vlad to block any CVA. I think Hearts would be very unlikely to recover from liquidation.

PS Hope Celtic can hold on here.
