I actually had a full night of sleep for once. Rafa was on at 7 p.m. my time and then Jamie's match after that then i went to bed at 11. Woke up around 8. Awesome!
You were lucky. I was dozing off by the time Rafa's match started at gone midnight (as I'd been up since 5am to watch Andy), so I set my alarm for half hour intervals to keep waking me up. So I only saw bits and pieces of his match. I did see the end and his on-court interview, which was lovely. Then when I woke up this morning Dolly was playing so I watched his match. Really sad that he lost. And there was another really bad umpire decision (when Tomic seemed to challenge - Dolly obviously thought he had). Caz complained about my alarm going off at regular intervals during the night. It's good that Andy is on at 8am in the morning, nice civilised time. Though I don't want Rafa to be on then on Sunday 'cos of church. But I think the night match will be Fed v Tomic, so Rafa will be on in the afternoon (middle of the night job again). If only I could go to Oz so I didn't have to cope with the time difference, or even take time off work so I could sleep during the day, but January is the busiest time at work so no chance.
But even when u can rest during the day , and stay up at night to watch , you feel like crap :rolling:
at least I do

Happy Burns Day! Hope you all have a enjoyable night especialy if you are out celebrating! Haggis neeps and tatties, with a wee dram for dinner tonight! :yak:
well I got home and after about 30/45 mins I got my new O2 broadband working... so that all seems to work - connected the iPhone and iPad to the new network ... now need to see what magic needs to happen for the printer to work as that was networked ... and I'm damned if I can remember how.
The OTHER thing is... after my idiot employers didn't bother to adjust my tax code from being taxed for all the IBM benefits I had, to ... well.. NO benefits whatsoever... I discovered that also the payroll company hadn't uplinked my details to the tax office... so I was being taxed as if I still had a company wagon and health/pension benefits. I have... none of those things.
So I opened my pay slip, to be curious as to whether there would be an adjustment.
Ummm... there is. Quite a large one. I had absolutely NO idea how much I was being taxed for all my perks.
That extra dosh will be going STRAIGHT into the mortgage.
That should help get it down (as per my HuffPost blog!!!)
And before anyone kvetches - I have gone through sheer hell work wise and have thrown ridinkidonk amounts into this house... so I like to think my daddy is looking down on me right now and helping me catch a break!

See you all in the morning - probably won't be on the forum during the bit of the match I'm home for - will take advantage of the TV rather than the computer. Hope you all get a good night in readiness for the action! Come to think of it, Andy is probably up and about already!

I think we did have a separate "welcome" thread for new members on a previous incarnation of the forum, but recently we've just usd this one. However, there would be no harm in having a separate "introduce yourself" type thread if people think that would help ease new members in, though...might be easier for them to find than this one...?

Yes. We're setting up a 'welcome' thread over the next day or so.

Probs a hawk. We have loads of them in the Niagara escarpement behind our house. They usually swoop through our back garden and steal a sparrow off the bird feeder. Sometimes a squirrel.

Hopefully something will be up and running in time for Indian Wells.you know what virus and or symptoms
I'm not very good with this sort of thing - just call for help when something unexpected pops up! It basically told me something had installed, then it started doing a scan, by which time it was apparently too late to stop it. Anti-virus was up to date. pc just won't do anything beyond log-in page. Most likely someone who knows what they're doing might be able to sort it. Fortunately pretty much everything was backed up very recently, so nothing major lost, just hugely inconvenient.
your anti virus will only protect you against so much, if you feel brave you could try installing and running some anti malware such as this http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
thanks - have to confess I leave all the technical stuff to my other half! It would depend if he was brave enough!!!
Progress! Son suggested downloading different operating system, which has worked mostly, booting up from cd, so can access documents and internet. Still need to sort something out to get at downloaded emails. But at least we're not completely cut off! :)
That's great news, Jan. I feel like I've lost a limb when the pc isn't working!

The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea
In a beautiful Peagreen boat
They took some honey, and plenty of money
Wrapped up in a 5 pound note
They sailed away, for a year and a day
To lands about which they had read
But they lost their way, and to their dismay
They woke up in Jaydu's bed!!!

Am hoping this reasonable weather continues for April!

Nasty. Don't miss calving at all. I know you won't agree but i'd rather lamb my 1000 sheep anytime!
hfwardhouse
15-03-2012, 12:33
You're right - I don't agree .... but the sheep are certainly easier to deal with when it comes to giving birth although a lot of folks have been having problems with lambing this year cos of the good winter - the lambs are awfully big
Maybe i'd better take the dogs out for some catching practice!
hfwardhouse
15-03-2012, 21:13
Sounds like a plan Ally! No point us doing that with our dog - he'd say, catch that? Nah .... I'm off to lie in that puddle  :rolling:
I have 2 new boys since last year - not really tried catching with them yet. My 4 year old dog can catch anything and never lets go. Unfortunately he isn't heavy enough to stop the sheep, only slow them down. The two new ones are both a lot heavier built.
hfwardhouse
15-03-2012, 21:36
Our dog is 10 now so although he's pretty good, he's not so fast these days - we tend to keep him away from the sheep at lambing time - his favourite occupation is rounding them up and driving them towards the gate ..... not really ideal when they're in lamb! I think we'll have Minnie doing the chasing this year .... and Mr HFW with the quad bike!
i could spend all day watching the dogs do the gathering, amazes me how far they range out
If only! My current crew aren't reliable at distance. Really miss my old ***** - could put her out of sight and rely on her to bring anything back that was there.

Just nipped through to the kitchen to check the ingredients (not that I doubted you Linda!) and so it does!
The ingredient list is: malt vinegar, spirit vinegar, molasses, sugar, salt, anchovies, tamarind extract, onions, garlic, spice and "flavouring". Given that ingredient lists (I believe) are ordered by quantity, I guess there's not much anchovy in it, but I would still never have guessed!
It's also interesting that they seem to be very specific about some things, and very vague about others. They differentiate the vinegars, then just say "spice" and "flavouring" - makes you want to know which spices and what flavouring!
