Welcome Antoine :)
Pat, Congrats - It's exciting isn't it!! I actually get paid through August as I've completed my contracted days early by taking no vacation during the year. I will be visiting my son and grandsons near Cardiff in July. They've just bought a new house in Bridgend thats due to be finished at the end of June.

You'll have to pop in, Genbrit - I live between Cardiff and Bridgend just off the A48!
oooh, would love to meet you. We'll have to try and arrange that. I will let you know when I am going to be there and maybe we can meet somewhere. My mum will be with me and she is somewhat possessive as she doesn't physically see me that often, bless her, but I'm sure I can get away for a meeting.

Trying out the new Pimms - Blackberry and Elderflower!

hmm, think alcoholic Vimto (especially since I ran out of lemonade and mixed it with Ginger Ale).
And 3 glasses is quite enough to send me merry to bed .........
:p
Yuck.........Vimto! And I do like sweet drinks but you've put me off that one :barmy:
Can't stand Vimto
Unfortunate name IMHO - always makes me think of Vim........if you remember that!

Successful couple of days. My eldest GDs cricket team came 3rd in the tournament yesterday only lost 1 match out of 6 but that was the crucial one. Today both GDs are in the same House at school and their House won the sports day. Really enjoying being up here and able to follow all their sports achievements. Off to watch the tennis now!!
Well done to them!
awesome for them Pat !!!!
my little GD is 3 & 1/2 , and is playing soccer ( oops football ) . She spends more time sitting on the field than playing LOL
Been away for a few days - my son got married on Saturday! It was a lovely day.
No time to watch tennis for the last 3 days, but managed to check up on the scores every so often!

Having a pre holiday treat tonight. I'm going to see Bruce Springsteen at the new Leeds Arena. I believe that is where they are hosting the BBC Sports Personality this year. Really looking forward to seeing this new 15,000 seat arena which is long overdue in a big city like Leeds! Oh and looking forward to seeing Bruce too of course ;)

Hi guys,
My name is Tiago, I'm 24 years old and I'm a huge tennis fan and Andy's, obviously. I've been watching Andy's matches since 2010 and I hope he plays for many years to come.
My other favourite players are Delpo and Dominic Thiem (this kid is gonna have a brilliant career ahead of him, I'm sure, João Sousa and Gastão Elias. The last 2 are Portuguese like me and because of that I follow a lot of their matches, Sousa's in particular. He was the first Portuguese player to ever win an ATP tournament.
I hope to enjoy my time around here and that you guys enjoy it as well.
Cheers!

Hello all, Andy fan since his first Wimbledon, So am not quite sure why it has taken me so long to find this forum! Anyway better late than never.
I live in Cheshire and am a veteran of many hours of the traumas of watching Andy. I suspect I am one of the few Andy fans who has yet to see him win a grand slam having had some misfortune in terms of access to TV or internet on each occasion.
The US Open 2012 I watched the first three sets in the pub but sadly the landlord didnt fancy a late one so a rush home to listen to the final set on the radio...
Wimbledon 2013 I was at the RAF Waddington Air Show, Where I had the honour of being one of the Vulcan to the Sky team, and had to endure one of the guys wife commentating the last game on his mobile....it was far from ideal though not many can say they were stood under a Vulcan bomber when Andy won his first Wimbledon. Ironically approx 10 mins later we discovered that one of our volunteers who had rocked up in their motor home had indeed watched the whole match on the TV in said motor home, a mere 50yards from where we stood, we even saw one of our aircrew going in there, a Scotsman and a Andy fan and we didnt cotton on. Doh!
Wimbledon 2016 sadly no Vulcan to disrupt my sport viewing however a few of the Vulcan team decided to attend the air tattoo at Fairford to sample simply being spectators rather than participants, however now having a modern phone I was confident of being able to watch Andy whilst also enjoying the sights and sounds of Typhoons, F16s, Spitfires and so on, having ones cake and eating it perhaps (well drinking beer)...alas no network coverage! Radio five live on the car radio it was then.
So how about the Aussie Andy, needless to say I have not missed any of those finals.....so common Andy break my curse.
:welcome: to the forum Donald Grump :)
Welcome DonaldGrump. Hopefully you will get to see Andy win a Grand Slam soon.
My husband loves the Vulcan. He was in the USAF stationed at RAF Upper Heyford and volunteered at the Air tattoo's and other UK air shows where he worked with a group of Brits who became friends. :)
Welcome Donald Grump. I was on the Isle of Arran during the first Wimbledon, sans phone. The relief when we got back to base and I could reclaim my phone, and saw the result flash up is impossible to describe unless you are a SAM fan.

My husband loves the Vulcan. He was in the USAF stationed at RAF Upper Heyford and volunteered at the Air tattoo's and other UK air shows where he worked with a group of Brits who became friends. :)
Hello Genbrit, I remember the Upper Heyford days very well. Many visits watching the F111s through the perimeter fence.
Our Vulcans always did seem to be a hit with the Americans, I remember many times in the 70s and 80s attending the Mildenhall air fete, The USAF used to show off all the wonderful jets they had, B52s, C5s, F111s, F4s, F15s F16s, to name a few and of course the fantastic SR71a Blackbird, what used to make me laugh is the Americans used to walk round paying little attention to all these wonderful aircraft.
The minute they saw the Vulcan had started to taxi out to display they would all stampede to the front, when that 80 ton jet started to howl and roar before leaping into the air and heading for the blue like a home sick angel the Americans would go mad, loved it.....So did we.
As for the Air Tattoo I have missed only one of those since 1985 my first being at Greenham Common in 1979. Lots of happy memories including just about hearing Andy win wimbledon last year!

Welcome to the Forum Donald.
Hi Everyone.
Been a tennis fan all my life and my dream came true in 2015 when I managed to get tickets to go to Wimbledon, I was lucky to be picked in the ballot and got tickets for court 1. I didn't see Andy sadly although I could hear him on centre each time he served! The experience was amazing and I have to admit got quite emotional as I walked through the gates at SW19, I think only a true tennis fan will know and understand why.
I have gone into the ballot again this year so fingers crossed I get lucky again. Good luck to all the fellow members too. As well as Andy I would love to see Joanna Konta and also the amazing Serena Williams.

Hi , sorry I joined a couple of weeks ago without introducing myself , have not quite got the hang of the forum yet ( :-( sorry ).
Mad keen Andy Murray fan, have enjoyed watching tennis since the days of Bjorn Borg and have loved following on tv for too many years but only in the past couple of years have I managed to get to tennis matches and now am completely hooked ( also I gave up my all consuming job so have had more "me" time ).
I live in St. Andrews "the home of golf" (but don't play - maybe can learn) hope to see Andy / Jamie down here some time in the future at the Dunhill Cup ( Tim Henman plays quite often).
Have been at the last few home Davis cup ties (2015 / 2016) and the Final in Ghent :-) ( absolute magic) . Went to the Australian Open this year so did not make Ottawa.
Went to AM Live last year and was amongst a group of mad voters to make sure that our Andy was not beaten by Barry Manilow to no. 1 at the Hydro. And have tickets for this year's event.
Looking forward to going to Rouen (praying for tickets) flights and accomodation booked.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys on the forum - great to be part of a group with same passion x

Welcome to the forum, you are in the right place if it's Andy Murray fans you are looking for, on this forum you will find a lovely friendly bunch of people:welcome:

lie in lesleyann and new to the forum. I'm fairly new to the tennis world but it didn't take me long to fall in love. Im a huge Murray fan (obviously lol) and try support him where I can. I haven't been fortunate to see him live yet.
I live in England, South Yorkshire and for some reason seem to have only a small selection of tennis friends so looking forward to chatting with like minded people.
:welcome: to the forum Lesleyann23 :)

I'm not around much at the moment.
I'm invigilating GCSE's + the school is using the same Hall the rest of the time for Year End exams for Year 10 and some for Year 9. Hence I'm incommunicado most of the day. I'm off next week (half-term) but then doing a further 3 weeks of it. Fitting in my gardening, cooking and charity work in between ...

Happy Christmas everyone! I haven't been able to be on the forum as much as I would have liked the last few months for reasons I'll go into in the new year (not trying to be mysterious, just a few things left to settle), but couldn't not wish all you lovely people a very happy, peaceful Christmas :xmas large::candle::reindeer::peekaboo: even if won't be quite the same without our magnificent Queen

Enjoy the last day of the Easter hols everyone. Is Rosie no longer on the forum? she was always such an Andy supporter as well as being part Serbian. x
I am so glad to find the Forum again! I have missed you. xx
Happy Christmas to one and all. I still pop by from time to time.
Still missing AM.
Hope everyone is well, and managing to enjoy the festive season. I probably (very) occasionally lurk rather than visit nowadays as I don't have the same interest in tennis since Andy's injuries made him gradually less competitive.
I'd like to thank each and every one of you for the fun and enjoyment I got out of being on here regularly during Andy's heyday.

I guess we can now follow Andy's exploits as a tennis coach ... goodness knows how that'll go!!!
For those who do still keep any eye on things Murray - I think Jamie will carry on for a bit.
He's now partnering John Peers again - at least during the Oz swing.
:skippy:
The forum operating side isn't quite what it was but we're carrying on regardless!!!

Will be keeping an eye on Sir Andy to see how the coaching goes. Can't believe I will probably have to watch Djoko.
