Oh real real shame! From 5-2 up in that last set he loses the next 5 games. A turn round from Mannarino after losing 7 straight games.

Serving at 5-3 Dan played a poor game and that was it really. I did think he was going to win that one.
Aw! Felt sure that Dan the comeback king would win that :(
Argh was watching Dan on LS while watching Kyle. Thought he had that :sad:
I seriously thought he was going to win it, especially after getting to the Nottingham final. I thought he would continue his charge up the rankings and get into the top 300.

Pity Dan should have won that. Further bad news Dan will need to do pre qualification for Wimbledon, no wc. Hopefully he can do what Marcus did a couple of years ago.

Suppose Dan a bit jaded, maybe understandable but outplayed today. Whatever the arguments still think pity had to pre qualify but he must now move on in any case.
Well he has got to where he is by earning it and doing it 'the hard way' which is of course proper order. And I happen to think he has done very very well thus far and there will be lots of tennis to come for him to keep climbing and improving.

I'm sorry too as I love watching Dan play...but undoubtedly he must have been exhausted considering the amount of tennis he's played since his return. Watched second set of Dan's match. He did well despite the din from the adjoining court where Pospisil was playing. His supporters were SO noisy....understandable as Pospisil the home guy....so I expect Dan will have to contend with that in his match today. It might fire him up even more!

A great win for Dan, up to #257, a win in the final would take Dan up another 30 places he could still need a WC , 104 places in main draw and120 in qualifier plus WCs. So as long as enough players above Dan get WCs he should be in if he wins, if he doesn't, only with a WC. It looks like would need at least 3 of 8 MD wildcards to be ranked higher than him.

Just noticed this and thought I should clarify that although seedings for the US Open will be based on tomorrow's rankings, entries for qualifying were based on the rankings 3 weeks ago, so he can't get in whatever happens tonight. However, a win tonight would probably secure a spot in Aus Open qualifying already (since he has no points to come off between now and the end of the year), though I'm sure he's aiming higher than that, i.e. a seeding in Aus Open qualifying or even a place in the main draw.
Fantastic match against Pospisil last night, which was well worth staying up for, I can highly recommend watching the final tonight if you are able to catch the stream!

Wow, the SF and Final here were brilliant to watch. I thought he was a goner more than once today but he clearly wants it SO much! Never plays it safe on the big points either, really goes after them, it's brilliant to see :-)
Having won his 6th Challenger singles title (his first since he beat Cam to win Aptos 2 years and 5 days ago), Dan now goes outright 2nd on the most ATP Challenger singles titles won by Brits this century list bit.ly/challfin (I know the position in that table is slightly devalued by the fact that the very best Brits don't hang around in Challengers long enough to win that many, but it's still quite an achievement)
Evo is also the 2nd oldest Brit to win a Challenger singles title this century (James was also 28 when he won his last title in Bangalore in 2015 but he was a few months older)
Today's win takes him up to GB no. 4 ahead of Liam and James and easily back into the ATP top 250. He has virtually made sure of a qualifying place for the Aus Open (his stated aim for the rest of 2018 in his recent interview with Mike Cation) already, and probably a place in qualifying for RG and perhaps even Wimbledon too, though I imagine the aims have now gone up to being seeded in qualifying or even being a direct entrant for one or all of those.
All in all, a very productive and fun week, he must be cream crackered now!
Anyone know if Dan has a coach currently, or is he going alone? Playing 7 matches in 8 days, he surely must be working on his fitness....

Vancouver was a really good one for Dan to win, some great matches and shows how far he has come since May and June. Definitely back to playing like, at least, a top100 player and he could well win another challenger or two in the Autumn to push his ranking towards the top 100.

I see Dan is playing a challenger event in Mallorca this week. Wardy is there too. Both as alternates. And Lloyd G is in the qualies.
Dan vs Joao Domingues is second match tomorrow on centre. Matches start at 10.30BST, so Dan up around noon BST. He will also be playing doubles later..."after suitable rest."
Dan should be on court in around 30 minutes time (or so.) The first match is long and still going on, currently 3-all in final set.
Dan took the first set 6 - 3, and is leading 4 - 2 in the second, and is about to serve.

Well done, was out today so following the live scores. Won the doubles as well I see.

Dan was a break down, but now back on serve 4-3*
Dan has lost the first set, but he is very upset with the umpire. Dan thinks the umpire's calling of the lines is abysmal. As Dan was having a rant ump told him to be quiet. Dan: "...no, you be quiet. Don't you tell me to be quiet" and on and on! Clearly Dan thought he was robbed of some points. Pity there is no Hawkeye in challengers.
A timely break for Dan! Brands serving for the match and Dan breaks. Now 5 all in second set.
Feisty Dan just couldn't quite get the win losing a close tiebreak but boy did he fight hard!
This a tight edgy TB. Dan seems to be in battle more with the ump than with Brands! Ah, Brands takes the match though Dan was well up in the TB at one point. Dan certainly had plenty of fire in his belly as he roared his way through the match. There was a cute wee ball kid who was barely the height of the net (who at one point Dan asked did she think the ball was in when he was arguing with the ump!)

I think it depends on the number of posts you have made, rather than the time involved
Many of the posts made will have disappeared during The Great Hack.

Watched the last set of Dan's match. It's always unfortunate when 2 Brits have to play each other, but I really wanted Dan to win. However, Liam won the third set 6-4, so well done him. I thought Dan seemed a bit tame (for him.)

I saw some of the match from 0-3 in set 1. Dan's serve was awful then but did improve a bit as the match went on. However, he did not seem his usual self with just the occasional good shot.
Looks like LB might be a bit of a bogey for him.

Catching up on Dan. There's a bunch of drunks continually singing. Continually! No attempt to shut them up ! :) it's a different world out on the outside courts! :)
He he if they're being sniffy Re the drugs then maybe they need a bit of prohibition around the outside courts.

Was not expecting that sort of scoreline, looks like it was a great effort from Dan-. (even if Fed was not on best form), geat stuff and should certainly give him confidence! Will view later.
Get in Dan! Sure isn't he just a wee star. Of course I woke during the night, of course I had to have a wee peek at what was going on in Oz and of course once I did, I couldn't leave. I was really impressed with Dan. He's so spirited and so fun to watch. With his new aerodynamic hair cut and his all white kit (Yoroi), I thought he looked the best I've seen him. Really proud of him too. So good to see him back and playing like this.
I only managed to wafch first two sets before sleep prevailed but have to say I was impressed with Dan & I think Fed was, well worth catching the replay today if you can. Yes Dan did well. Anyone know who his clothing sponsors are couldnt make it out cheers.

A good match for Dan, well done him :clap: food to see him back and looking so keen. Yes maybe he should have been given the 'baby fed' title!
Not sure if Fed played badly, as someone has mentioned, or if he was just having the problems others have when they're playing him.
