I watched most of this slightly strange match. There was a brief delay in first set for a few drops of rain followed by a much longer delay for a medical situation in the crowd during which Kyle had a MTO for treatment on upper arm/shoulder area. He had further treatment at the next few changes of ends. After the long delay Jack Sock seemed to have lost focus and was not serving so well eg 2 double faults in one game while Kyle looked to be focusing really well. Near the end of the match Sock had a MTO for what looked like much the same as Kyle had had earlier - but in Sock's case the treatment did not work as well as it had with Kyle. Conditions looked hot and humid. It was the best I have seen Kyle play in a while so hope it continues!

Massive win for Kyle, really needed a win against a higher ranked player after 6 months without one, hope he is ok and does not suffer next round loss after a shock. I was watching on catch up last night. I too have never seen Kyle so angry. There was no commentary so no inside opinion but I'm not so sure it was that bad a decision. You could argue it either way tbh.

Excellent first set 6-1 after an initial exchange of breaks and then loses second 5-7
He will be angry but has to remember the first set rather than the second. His opponent is using a lot of drop shots and shot placement and Kyle has to find the shot selections of the first set!
And loses the third 6-3 he was 4-2 down and broke back to 4-3 but was then broken again to love. Duzmhur has great touch but perhaps one that got away?

I do hope Mark Hilton is able to address this issues with his new charge - admittedly a very different game style to Dan's, but that's what coaches are there for. Far too many UEs in 2nd & 3rd sets. His opponent (can't spell his name) tightened up his game, whilst some of Kyle's shots were way off the mark. Shame. Hope he comes into the US Open with a better mindset.
