I think the blue and gold looks great. Much better than the black/gold or white/gold. Looks especially good against the red clay. IMHO. :)

I think it's blue and gold, not green. Either way it's better than the white and gold IMO.
Gold? I still think it clashes horribly. I actually quite liked the white/goldygreen better.
I think the white and gold has been the most unflattering kit he has ever worn - not only because of the colour but also because it looks far too small for him.
I dont mind it , my fav was the black /gold !!!
would be a boring world if we all had the same opinion on Andys kit wouldnt it
If it's only Andy's kit we're arguing about that has to be good news!

The white/golden kit is my favourite definitely. The black/gold was ok, but I always thought it to be a tad odd to wear black clothing as a tennis player if outside in the sun! Although ok if it's indoors. The blue/gold kit is going a little too far, to me anyway, it's too 'in your face', and more djokovic-esk clothing. Andy's white/golden kit was subtle and seemed to suit him, it might have been a little too tight than his previous shirts but they can always adjust that if it becomes to irritating for him. Although saying all this, it's nice to have a little variation now and again, and the blue kit clashing with the red dirt is quite cool, but for me I'd prefer not to see that kit again.
Least the white dress code for wimby will counter the ugly blue/gold to red dirt clash :p

I love the blue and gold and think the blue suits Andy very well.
I like the white, I like the black and I like the blue, but I've never liked the greeny-yellow shoulders that are sort of mixed with black so they look grubby.

Loving the clay kit
I've never been over keen on any of the adidas kit tbh and some of their kit (not Andy's thankfully) is truely dreadful.
This FO kit isn't bad at all. I like blue, it definately looks good against the clay and I have always liked the more fitted shirts rather than those awful baggy things Andy used to wear.

This was posted earlier, but here are some quotes
Asia, nevertheless, will be important. "There is money in Asia, not only in the Far East but also in the Middle East," Bhupathi said. "A lot of these brands from both markets are going global – clothing brands, airlines, technology, electronics, cars and so on. So wherever there is money we're going to try and see if there is a fit for Andy.
"Andy's got qualities that appeal to certain brands, for sure. He's one of the hardest-working guys out there. He's one of the biggest fighters. He's emotional. We saw that after the Wimbledon final last year. So we'll work on his attributes and positive qualities and we'll try and find that connect with some brands."
Bhupathi has known Murray "fairly well" for several years. He described him as "very personable" and with a good head for business, but also said he was "a very shy boy". While stressing the need for the world No 2 to concentrate on his tennis and conserve his energies – he said last month's "brutal" Miami Masters final against David Ferrer had demonstrated what a physical sport tennis has become – Bhupathi looked forward to "bringing him out of his shell".
In the wake of Murray's US Open victory last September industry experts were predicting that he might treble his off-court earnings to around £20m a year over the next five years.

Murray had a late night here on Saturday, but he was not out on the town. Instead he was following coverage of the men's doubles final at the US Clay-Court Championship in Houston, where his older brother Jamie won his first title for 18 months. Jamie and the Australian John Peers defeated Americans Bob and Mike Bryan, the world's No 1 doubles pair, 1-6, 7-6, 12-10.
"I tried to stay up," the reigning US Open champion said. "I went to bed at 2-2 in the second set. I just sent him a message in the second set saying: 'Whatever happens, it's been a great week. I'm thinking of you.' Then I woke up at five in the morning and saw that he had won. It was great.

Beyond the Baseline
“The only issue I have with it is in the whole time this year, in four months, I’ve yet to see the returner receive a time violation,” Murray said. “It’s always the server that gets given it, and you’re not allowed to serve if your opponent isn’t ready. So sometimes you’re waiting, if your opponent is doing his strings or whatever. So it’s important that the umpire checks both players because it’s not always the server that’s playing slow.
“The first one I agreed with, I said nothing about it. The second one I argued because I was looking to him, and he was doing his strings so that wasted another three, four seconds, and that’s why I lost the serve.”

An interview with:
ANDY MURRAY
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Pretty happy with that, Andy?
ANDY MURRAY: No, it was a good start. I played pretty well for all of the match. Yeah, didn't make too many mistakes. Yeah, it was good.
Q. Did the training you did on clay come into play a lot today?
ANDY MURRAY: I mean, not right now it won't. It takes time. It doesn't matter how much training you do, until you get the matches and the feel of how to play under pressure, it's completely different.
So I think over the next few weeks, the more time I get to spend on the court practicing and playing matches, that combined will help me play better.
But, you know, I think the first match, you're just trying to win. You try to play solid. You don't take too many risks. It was good.
Q. Can you talk about the decision you took to work with Mahesh Bhupathi? Do you like this other side of the game?
ANDY MURRAY: The business side?
Q. Yes, the business side of the game. What do you expect?
ANDY MURRAY: Well, I think all of the players obviously take an interest in it because it's an extremely long year and we travel all over the world. You need to make sure all of the things you're doing off the court are taken good care of.
The next four or five years of my life are going to be I think some of the most important for me. So you want to make sure you have the right people around you. That's why I made the decision to change some of the people I work with, like Ugo. I hope they do a good job for me.
Q. How many people more or less are taking care of Andy Murray? Apart from Lendl, physio, another coach or assist and coach, then you have Bhupathi, then you have Ugo. Do you have any idea how many are involved in your business side?
ANDY MURRAY: In the business side, yes. It's not particularly complicated. I have Ugo, who does all of the tennis things. Mahesh will do the commercial stuff. Then I work with a company like every other tennis player was. I know Rafa and Roger have just changed to work with their individual agents they've had for a long time.
As far as I'm aware, that's how it works with every tennis player that's near the top of the game. On the women's side, they have a lot of people that work in fashion, that sort of stuff. It's part of our careers. We need to have the best people around us.
Q. You also have media PR?
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, I have someone.
Q. Now Ugo is working for Del Potro and you. Can there be any sort of problem, you think?
ANDY MURRAY: Give me an example of what a problem can be.
Q. I have no idea. I'm just asking you.
ANDY MURRAY: Well, I'm asking you, what problem could there be?
Q. There is an exhibition in South America. They want to see Del Potro.
ANDY MURRAY: Maybe they want to see Del Potro and Murray so we can play against each other.
I don't see any problems with a lot of the companies like IMG, for example. There's been times where they've had five of the top 10 players in the world. Yeah, you could say there's a conflict, but they've done a great job with a lot of different athletes. So I don't see a problem.
Q. Next opponent, Wawrinka.
ANDY MURRAY: It will be a tough match. Good test for me. He's played some good tennis this year. He obviously enjoys the surface, has had some good results on it in the past.
I'll need to play well tomorrow to win that match.
Q. Was that as comfortable as you felt starting a clay court season? You looked confident all the way through.
ANDY MURRAY: I don't know. It's tough to say. I mean, it was a good start. I mean, I went up 4 0. But he also had a breakpoint in the first game. I broke him from 40 Love. He had quite a few chances at the beginning of the match.
But I got up. I won the close games, which was important.
But, yeah, I didn't make too many mistakes. It was solid. I returned well, served well. If you do those two things well on any surface, you know, it gives you a good base to work from.
It was a good start.
Q. Novak was saying earlier about the umpires and the need perhaps to warn the players, a discussion before the match, talk them through the time situation, what they're going to do. Do you agree with that? Seems a lot of people are very confused.
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, I think it's a rule that I personally in the four months that it's been there, I haven't once seen the receiver get the warning for taking too long, which can't be right. The receiver tends to be the one doing more of the running most of the time when you're playing the points 'cause, you know, the guys are serving well these days.
So I don't quite know why that would be. You know, sometimes the guy serving is ready, but the guy that's receiving might be playing with his strings. Are you meant to just serve and see what happens? I don't really know. Always seems to be the server that gets punished.
I think something needs to change there because normally when you look up to the umpire when you're serving, he's always staring at you. He's looking at his clock and he's looking at you. I think that's the one gray area, as well as there not being a clock on the court, which I think there should be.
Q. You look much stronger this year. Compared from last year, the clay court season last year, starting from the match today, do you feel stronger?
ANDY MURRAY: Physically or just in general?
Q. Physically, the movement. You just look stronger this year.
ANDY MURRAY: Well, last year I had a problem with my back. I think it was the year before that I had a problem with my elbow here. I got a few injuries during the clay court season the last couple years which probably didn't help me get ready for some of the events. It is a surface I need to practice a lot, I need to play matches on, because I don't feel that comfortable on it straightaway.
I've been healthy for the most part of this year. My body feels good after playing three months on the hard courts. Coming to the clay, it's a bit easier on the body.
Yeah, it's been a good start. Hopefully I can keep building on it.
Q. Do you think there should be a difference in terms of seconds if you play on clay when rallies are longer than somewhere else, grass or so? And, you know, in Italy there are certain regions where people are considered tight with money. We always heard a lot of jokes about the Scottish. I'd like to know if that reputation is wrong, and what do you think about it?
ANDY MURRAY: I think there's people that are tight with their money everywhere. That's a generalization. I mean, I can't say. It's best to ask the people I work with whether I'm tight with my money.
Q. I'm not asking about you, just the Scottish in general.
ANDY MURRAY: I would say not. No smoke without fire.

Did you read Guy Forget's suggestion that RG should set aside the rankings for their seedings this year in order to ensure that Rafa doesn't meet Novak until the final - meaning that Rafa would have to be seeded two? Surely it won't happen - it would be totally disrespectful to Andy, Roger and David and I'm pretty sure Rafa himself would not be in agreement - odd idea.
I read that article a few days ago - he made the point that it would be bad for the tournament if Novak was knocked out in the quarters (of course it could be Rafa that was knocked out but he said Novak). He and others have been advocating clay-adjusted seedings for RG just as Wimbledon have grass-adjusted seedings. That definitely wouldn't be good for Andy - he'd probably be seeded about 20! But I'm sure they won't do it.

I'm quite excited at the prospect of a Djoko-Rafa 1/4 final. Would be funny.
My bet is that Rafa, Andy and Ferrer will be in the same half (with Rafa and Ferrer in the same quarter) and Novak and Fed will be in the other half. Wouldn't quite put my house on it but almost!

In that case Andy might as well be seeded 20!
Thought I would put this on here as well as the FB thread.......have a go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Help me pack my new racquet bag for a chance to win a signed one, good luck….

First things first. I would be happy for Andy to get to the QF and then take it from there!
I suspect that at Wimbledon, with their adjustment to the seedings, Fed will be seeded #2 so he and Novak will be in opposite halves. At least Andy won't have to play both of them.

I was merely talking about the draw - nothing more than that. I'm afraid the cynic in me doesn't believe that RG will allow Novak, Rafa and Fed to be in the same half of the draw but we'll see.

Has anyone heard the stories about Ivo Karlovic having had a stroke today? It has been mentioned on twitter......
He's had a mild stroke and is in hospital in Miami. He's in a stable condition and not in any danger.
According to Sunday Times UK Sports rich list, Andy is at #32 with (appropriately) a "fortune" of £32million. He's behind a host of footballers (Beckham is #1 with £165million) and racing drivers. He does beat Sir Alex Ferguson who has "only" £29million. There are no women in the top 100.

On Murray being booed by sections of the crowd when he played Federer at last year’s Finals: “I was sitting there when that happened. I had never seen anything like it, with a national player competing at home. It wasn’t an anti-Murray thing, it was definitely pro-Federer. We worked out why, and it’s actually quite simple. It’s actually difficult for Roger’s fans to see him en masse, and to get tickets to a tournament, as it’s not easy at Wimbledon and Basle is a relatively small venue and it’s quite corporate. So the Swiss fans come to The O2, where there are 15 sessions, and they come over for the whole week as they’re assuming that he’s going to be around in the later stages. It almost becomes a festival for them. There’s a very strong Swiss presence.”
.
“You also have to consider that British fans are more reserved, so they’re less likely to start chanting. In terms of Andy’s appeal, I think people are beginning to get to know him a bit more. And when they do, they see he’s actually very bright, very funny, and has got great character, and they also see that his tennis has moved up a level from a couple of years ago. He’s in unbelievable physical shape and he’s hitting the ball so hard off the ground. That incident wasn’t reflective of public opinion of Murray. Not at all. Roger is always going to be hugely supported, just because of what he has achieved in the game. And the same with Rafa. They have both huge fanbases, and quite rightly.”

"As he admitted, when we spoke in his locker room at 1.30am, as he warmed down on the exercise bike, this was not very pretty. Just one of those matches - as his coach Ivan Lendl keeps reiterating - where you need to win the final point. Against a familiar opponent playing more aggressively than usual, Murray was terrible for an hour, seemingly lacking energy, as he went a set and break down. But suddenly he sprang to life in the fourth game of the second and, after claiming that set, raced a break up in the third. Unexpectedly, Simon pegged him back before a series of tight games towards the end and a crazy deciding tie-break which Murray edged 8-6 on his sixth match point. He said he expected to sleep not before 4am. "Not ideal", he said, ahead of a quarter-final with Tomas Berdych later today."

14 year old deaf player Duck Hee Lee. Anyways he was playing a challenger this week, lost in first round to a player ranked 150 7-6 6-1. So great account of himself considering he's only 14. Also inspirational to see someone with a disability competing on the challenger circuit at such a tender age!

Have just been watching Judy on BBC breakfast - great interview. The swing-ball she mentioned is here in my house, as it (with the cord still attached) was among some old tennis balls that Judy sent over many years ago for my grandchildren. They are not tennis players, but used them for French cricket etc etc. Most of them have been lost over the years!!!

"Obviously the goal is to be in peak condition for Wimbledon," said Judy.
Of the injury, she said: "It's something to do with his back but the scan will let him see what the injury is and what needs to be done.
"Often you pick up niggles when you change surfaces. Each surface brings its own problems and challenges. This back issue has been rumbling for a week or so.
"It's not so easy on the clay. There is a lot more twisting and turning. He needs to be cautious and I'm sure Wimbledon will be his priority."

Andy was on the phone to Brad Gilbert and Chris Fowler on ESPN during Fed's match. He talked about his back a lot - his rehab is 3 hours every day. Says he's only hitting balls at the mo' - not moving around the court. Doesn't sound like he's much better tho' - he says it's a long process and he needs to be patient. said it was really bad in Rome and then got worse. Also picks Rafa to win RG. Anyway, it was great to hear his voice.
ESPN have uploaded the interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prDwYtKXTJI). Andy sounding depressed but then what he's saying is depressing. It's very much wait and see and hoping he'll be ready for the grass. Maybe journalists now will report exactly the situation rather than like the Daily Fail and insinuate Andy dodged the FO and is actually in full practice mode.

“The one that Jamie and Andy would talk about most is ‘Boom Boom Balloon’. Because of the weather in Scotland I often had to find things to do indoors and that were safe that wouldn’t cause havoc in the house.
“Balloons are ideal because they’re easy to play with, don’t make a mess, travel slowly, a don’t break things. It starts with one balloon in the hall and a stack of cushions in the middle as a net and then the boys worked out their own scoring system, games and challenges.
“Then add more balloons and it keeps children entertained for hours – and wears them out.
“And having two brothers who are close in age, they were always trying to beat each other and really learned to be competitive.
“We used to fill the balloons with rice to make noises, and we filled them to different sizes, which taught the boys about speeds and reaction time.
“The other favourite was Cereal Box Tennis using the boxes as a net across the kitchen table – their first introduction to the game!”

Really good article in Scotland on Sunday.:thanks:
What's happened to Andy Ireland? The 10sballs article refers to Joey de Beer who, as we know, has been at matches of late but there's been no sign of Andy for a while now or am I missing something?

Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013/jun/07/andy-murray-wimbledon-title) - Andy Murray's time out looks good for tilt at Wimbledon title
"After Wimbledon last year I took five or six days off and, when I started practising again, I felt really comfortable on the grass straight away and that isn't normally the case. Grass takes time to get used to. I've been on the grass for 10 days or so and that's probably a week longer than I would have had if I'd been at the French Open. It's more than I've had the past few years and I've been playing better and better each day in practice so hopefully it will turn out to be a blessing.
"I feel really good. I took maybe eight or nine days' full rest doing nothing, got my back checked out and had some scans, saw some doctors and specialists and basically came up with a plan to get myself as fit as possible for the grass-court season. I've had no setbacks yet, I've practised well for the last three or four days so it should be good."
Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/tennis/10106660/Aegon-Championships-2013-the-forgotten-man-who-has-helped-shape-Andy-Murrays-career.html) - Aegon Championships 2013: the forgotten man who has helped shape Andy Murray's career
This was Wojtek Fibak, the former world No 10 from Poland, and the man who oversaw Lendl’s transformation from promising junior to multiple grand-slam winner and world No 1.
........
Now Fibak is interested to see the same process unfold again, with Lendl in the mentor’s role.
.......
In Fibak’s view, Lendl’s greatest asset is his intelligence – a quality that is now being deployed in Murray’s favour. “It was a very smart move for Murray to get Ivan involved,” Fibak told The Daily Telegraph. “Altogether he has made a great contribution already. Andy has become more professional, and he has developed a much bigger forehand. He means it now, whereas before he was just looping it and waiting.
“Ivan tells me that Andy has a great backhand, but in order to win on the slower surfaces, you have to dominate with your forehand. The backhand is really a counter-punching shot. Ivan has certainly worked on his first serve, his mental approach, and he has made a big improvement. But what they still lack, I believe, is his image on the court – that he’s a fighter, he’s a dominator.
.........
“I think Andy is more talented than Ivan was,” he said. “He has a larger serve and he can volley better. He has all the shots in his repertoire. I would just like to see him communicate more energy and more willingness to win — not only to the other player but to the public and the millions of TV viewers.

just a snippet from the Guardian, reporting fedX's win in Halle “I have won a lot in my career but not recently,” Federer said after beating Youzhny. “I am happy it worked for me today.
